Meet Boston – Your Future Loyal Sidekick! 🐾 Boston is a charming, one-of-a-kind pup who’s ready to win over the heart of a patient and understanding adopter. This squeaker-seeking, fetch-loving goofball thrives on scent walks, car rides, and cozy nights watching TV by your side. He’s a pro at chew toys, a true foodie, and loves nothing more than the company of another canine companion. Boston is crate, house, and leash trained. Once he trusts you, he becomes the most loyal snuggle buddy you could ask for. While he takes time to warm up to new people, especially men, he bonds deeply with his person - ideally a calm, dog-savvy female. Although he’ll need continued support and structure to thrive in his forever home, the reward is a devoted best friend for life. No cats for this guy, please, but if you’ve got another friendly dog, Boston will be thrilled to have a furry sibling. Are you the right match for Boston’s big heart and playful spirit? To adopt, submit an application at www.because4paws.org Boston is a English Pointer/Retriever mix. He's up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and monthly preventatives. He is neutered and microchipped, too. As with every dog, he will need to continue his socialization and training in his forever home.

Story
Fiona needs a new foster or foster-to-adopt home. About three years old, Fiona came from a large hoarding situation. She is a shy, gentle girl who needs TLC and time to get comfortable in a home. Fiona loves other dogs and we would like to see her in a home with at least one other dog. The activity level of small children would scare her, so an adult home or one with older children would be ideal. She needs a home with a securely fenced yard, and a family who has experience and patience. To foster or foster-to-adopt Fiona please fill out our application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application NOTE: Foster or foster-to-adopt families must be located within the state of Connecticut.

Story
Lyla just loves playing with other dogs She's shy with new people and takes a little time to realize you're just a new friend she hasn't met yet - but a few treats and some time and she'll figure it out! She'd love a home with a securely fenced yard (she hasn't figured out leashes yet) and a dog friend or two - and would be happy to live with teenaged children. This sweet girl came from a large hoarding situation and she has come so far! These days she's a happy girl - and is ready and waiting to find her forever home. If that home could be yours, please fill out an application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application

Story
Woof (Hi)... My name is Lita! I am an adorable little girl that packs a big punch! I am super athletic; I run, leap and bounce everywhere I go. I am super fast and definitely need someplace that I can safely run around. I am house trained and am ok with living in small spaces, like an apartment, as long as you take me somewhere to play! I love to play with toys - I will collect them all, while I am running around. I am also very sweet, but shy at first. Once we get to know each other, I will be your best friend! I am good with other dogs - even great big ones! I am getting pretty good with the house cat here, too! Please take me home, so I can love you, and be loved! I am currently living in Puerto Rico, but there are options for me to fly to the states, and my adoption fee covers the necessary tests and certificate for travel. ***When inquiring about one of our beautiful pups, please be sure to include your phone number. Story
Birthdate:  02/24/2017Breed: One of a kindWeight:   56 lbsCheck out my Video: Digging up the good stuff!Meet Liam – A Gentle Soul with a Heart Full of Love Liam hasn’t always had the easiest start. When he was rescued, he was malnourished and weak—but thanks to some incredible people in Georgia, this brave boy got his second chance. Now, Liam is thriving, and he’s ready to find the loving home he’s always deserved. This sweet, sensitive guy is the full package: a total gentleman on leash, a connoisseur of quiet walks, and a fan of wading into the stream to blow little bubbles in the water (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds). What really melts hearts, though, is how he checks in during walks—stopping just to look at you with those soulful eyes, offer a gentle boop or kiss, and flash his charming little chicklet teeth.Beneath Liam's soft exterior is a kind-hearted, affectionate pup who just wants to feel safe and loved. He’s looking for someone who understands that the best relationships are built on trust, patience, and a whole lot of love.Could your home be the soft place Liam has been waiting to land?A note from Liam's Rescue Buddy: "Liam is the friend everyone needs in their life. He is a fantastic listener, and his gratitude for time spent with him is palpable. While his communication is wordless, it's easy to feel his love and comfort, and it's difficult not to feel a sense of calm and peace when walking or snuggling him!" Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36924/generic. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.March 7, 2026, 11:22 am
