Story
Welcome Plexie to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Plexie is a 2.5 year old Pointer/Lab is our best guess. She has beautiful markings and a lower coat and isn’t a big shedder. She is being fostered by a good Samaritan. She has 10 beautiful and very robust puppies. She is a great momma dog and she is very sweet to all people. She is friendly with the teen children in the home where she is now staying. She is good with other dogs and nice to strangers. She was relatively quiet at the Rescue and she is good on a leash. She is good in a car ride and knows sit command. She is also potty trained, vaccinated, healthy and ready for her forever home. She is a nice sized dog at about 65 pounds. We will spay her as soon as she fully dries up and she will be ready for her forever home. She did a good job when we clipped her toenails and didn’t have any reaction. She will make a great companion pet for a family. We think she will be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is very tolerant to all the puppies and we honestly cannot see any negative thing about this amazing dog. She is currently in Texas and she can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.6/16/25 Don Quixote, and his brother, Sancho Panza, were strays and taken to a shelter. Unfortunately, their time was up at the shelter and they were going to be euthanized for space. Thankfully, we had spots open at the Arkansas Paws in Prison program, so we were able to take them into our rescue and place them at Paws in Prison!   We will continue to update this post as we receive more details and info on Don and how his training is going. He began at Paws in Prison on 6/9/25 so he will graduate the week of August 4th. We hope to have a home ready and waiting for him at that time!   Paws in prison is an amazing program where dogs are paired with inmates whom they are with 24/7 for 8 weeks. The inmates work with the dogs everyday on basic training, basic obedience, house training, leash training, etc. and even some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. This is a wonderful program and so beneficial for the dogs and the inmates!   Don is a good boy who is very food motivated and eager to learn, so training should come along nicely. He is very friendly and great with other dogs. So far, Paws in Prison has said that he is friendly, outgoing, and loves other dogs.  He has an adorable face and a white tipped tail!   He does have some of the typical young pup behaviors like jumping for attention, etc. Paws in Prison will work with him on this.    He is young, about 7 months old. We do not know his breed but we believe he may be a Pointer mix. He currently weighs about 40 pounds.   He is heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations.     Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.  Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays Port Jervis, NY 5am Fridays  Southington, CT 8am Fridays  East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays  To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Ivar was found dumped on a country road in the middle of nowhere. We cant figure out someone could dump such a wonderful dog, but here we are. Ivar is excellent with other dogs- he is very submissive and even goes the other way when other more dominant dogs try to assert themselves. He is very content to be low man on the totem pole. He is also wonderful with cats and is very gentle when playing with the cats and dogs in his foster home. To add the cherry on top, Ivar adores children! You really can't ask for more in a dog. Ivar is housetrained and crate trained. Hes medium energy level and doesn't require tons of exercise, but he does enjoy playing with kids, cats, and dogs, so he would love to have a home with some of any of those. Ivar is about 1-2 years old and weighs 65 lbs. His breed is purely a guess. He is fully vetted and ready to find a forever home! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. They love river walks, park adventures, chasing balls (they’re still working on bringing it back ), and cozy kennel naps. Perry is the confident big brother with a classic German Shepherd look and a brown undercoat that sparkles in the sun.‍ Raven is sleek, stunning, and fearless—right in the mix with the boys!&#226&#156&#133 Kennel trained&#226&#156&#133 Social with other dogs&#226&#156&#133 Working with their neighbor/trainer on “sit” and “shake”&#226&#156&#133 Learning leash manners&#226&#156&#133 Total lovebugs! They’re happy, energetic, and full of life—ready to bring adventure, joy, and plenty of tail wags to their forever home.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats.
