Story
Welcome Plexie to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Plexie is a 2.5 year old Pointer/Lab is our best guess. She has beautiful markings and a lower coat and isn’t a big shedder. She is being fostered by a good Samaritan. She has 10 beautiful and very robust puppies. She is a great momma dog and she is very sweet to all people. She is friendly with the teen children in the home where she is now staying. She is good with other dogs and nice to strangers. She was relatively quiet at the Rescue and she is good on a leash. She is good in a car ride and knows sit command. She is also potty trained, vaccinated, healthy and ready for her forever home. She is a nice sized dog at about 65 pounds. We will spay her as soon as she fully dries up and she will be ready for her forever home. She did a good job when we clipped her toenails and didn’t have any reaction. She will make a great companion pet for a family. We think she will be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is very tolerant to all the puppies and we honestly cannot see any negative thing about this amazing dog. She is currently in Texas and she can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.6/16/25 Don Quixote, and his brother, Sancho Panza, were strays and taken to a shelter. Unfortunately, their time was up at the shelter and they were going to be euthanized for space. Thankfully, we had spots open at the Arkansas Paws in Prison program, so we were able to take them into our rescue and place them at Paws in Prison!   We will continue to update this post as we receive more details and info on Don and how his training is going. He began at Paws in Prison on 6/9/25 so he will graduate the week of August 4th. We hope to have a home ready and waiting for him at that time!   Paws in prison is an amazing program where dogs are paired with inmates whom they are with 24/7 for 8 weeks. The inmates work with the dogs everyday on basic training, basic obedience, house training, leash training, etc. and even some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. This is a wonderful program and so beneficial for the dogs and the inmates!   Don is a good boy who is very food motivated and eager to learn, so training should come along nicely. He is very friendly and great with other dogs. So far, Paws in Prison has said that he is friendly, outgoing, and loves other dogs.  He has an adorable face and a white tipped tail!   He does have some of the typical young pup behaviors like jumping for attention, etc. Paws in Prison will work with him on this.    He is young, about 7 months old. We do not know his breed but we believe he may be a Pointer mix. He currently weighs about 40 pounds.   He is heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations.     Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.  Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays Port Jervis, NY 5am Fridays  Southington, CT 8am Fridays  East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays  To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! ADOPT...........DON'T SHOP!!! My LIFE depends on it!!! LOcal adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
