Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Sadie is a comical, quirky, and spunky girl. She came from a neglect case in rural Kentucky, where she and other dogs were found abandoned and starving in an outdoor pen. Sadie is fortunate to be alive! Sadie is spunky when she is outside. Inside the house, she loves to curl up in a blanket on your bed or be cozy in a dog bed. Sadie loves bully sticks and will work them down as a beloved pastime. Sadie is well-behaved in the house, housebroken, and quiet. When she sees something out the window, she may alert vocally though! She is approximately 7.5 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. When outside, Sadie loves to zip around and explore. She does need a 6-foot fence as she can climb over a 4-foot fence. Sadie loves to go to the dog park and her favorite activity is to bark at other dogs in hopes that they will run so she can chase them.  Sadie is also a squirrel enthusiast so she will tree them and bark, both  in the yard and at the dog park, so sometimes she does need to be re-directed. Sadie loves to chase and bark at other dogs. She does not harm them, though she likes to dominate them like this to get them to play her game.   Sadie zips around like a racehorse at times and is agile and free. She goes from zero to 40 in about 3 seconds. Sadie is a joy to watch at the dog park, just keep walking (taking the lead) and that refocuses her energy! Sadie does have a little random incontinence (likely due to her age) and is on a medicine called Proin. She takes half a tab twice a day and it seems to help her greatly.  Sadie is a bit of an alpha, but can easily live with other dogs, and does mingle with all kinds of dogs at a dog park. Sadie is good with other dogs, older kids, but no cats for Sadie. This senior gal is very lovey-dovey, and loves to be pet, pampered, and smooched. She has a soft, yet also spunky nature and exudes sweet southern charm. Sadie is definitely one of a kind! Interested in adopting? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxAlfie, as his foster calls him, is kinda shy and submissive at first but once he warms up he will be your best friend! He wants to be right with his family at all times and loves getting attention and reassurance that he's a good boy. He also loves to snuggle with whomever he thinks might give him a few pets. Petting another dog? “No problem,” says Alf. “I’ll just wedge in here between the two of you and steal a few for myself.” Alf was a little unsure of his canine counterparts in his foster home at first, but quickly transformed into the total goofball that he truly is. He loves to play with the other dogs, but is respectful of those who tell him “No thanks.”  He might do well in a home with a confident resident dog to show him the ropes.  If he's an only dog, working on training to build his confidence will be important.   He has an average energy level and sometimes will carry toys around in his mouth proudly showing them off.  On occasion, he will get so excited that he will talk by woo woo wooing at you! He doesn’t love going into his crate yet, but once he’s in with a treat or for meals, he does well.  He is crated when his foster owners are away since he sometimes finds things to chew on. He does love chewy bones and toys of all kinds so just needs to learn what's a toy and what's not.   Overall, Alf is a joyful dog who just wants to be part of whatever it is you might be doing. A perfect companion for walks, car rides, household chores, or lounging on the couch.    Watch this cute video of Alf: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lWLodFsU-i8 If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Hi! I'm Brady! I'm from Kansas. From his foster: Brady is a stunning, exuberant, and affectionate pointer mix. Brady is a lot of fun! He is estimated to be 4 years old but still has a lot of puppy energy. He's happiest when playing, exercising, and learning. He requires physical and mental stimulation to thrive. Brady benefits from strong leadership and training. He is a dog who will bond strongly with his owner/leader. He completed a 6 week basic obedience training with his foster mom. He's learned his house manners and we're now working on leash skills and building confidence. He's a super smart boy. Brady attends dog day care once per week and does great! If you enjoy the loyalty and athleticism of working breeds, this handsome boy may be for you! Brady is a bit fearful of new situations. But once be feels safe, he's very affectionate. Has a teenager in his foster home, who he gets on great with. Not recommended for young children due to his strong play style. Brady likes his crate can be left for a few hours at a time. He is never crated all day and we do not leave him outside his crate when alone. A fenced yard would really help to keep Brady active, as would a dog companion. But not required if there are other options for exercise & engagement. From the vet team: Brady was found to be lyme positive. It is currently not causing any issues for Brady and likely a pre-existing condition.

Story
Hi, my name is Snuff. I am from Alabama. From the foster: Snuff is an incredibly sweet dog. He's in need of some training on basic commands, but is extremely food motivated and eager to please, so with the right amount of patience and treats, he should be able to learn new skills. Snuff is a little anxious and needs some time adapting to new places and new experiences (he's very hesitant about going on walks, and it took a couple days to get him comfortable going outside to go potty), but he's very friendly with kids of all ages, other dogs, and most cats (he was fine with one of my cats but not with the other). He is potty trained and crate trained,. Other than building confidence and needing a little bit of training, Snuff has no major behavioral concerns, he just really needs a home that will be able to help him build confidence and shower him with love (because he has a lot of love to give in return!).

Story
Meet Pumpkin Hi there! My name is Pumpkin and I am a young, fun-loving female dog who is also athletic, brave, curious, dignified, friendly, funny, gentle, and loyal. I am great with other dogs and love playing and getting to know other pups. My foster mom says that I am house-trained and can be left alone at home while they are at work, as I am quite independent. I enjoy quiet time, but also love going on adventures and playing with toys. If you're looking for a well-rounded, loving, and smart companion, I am the one for you! Even though I am young, I am very calm and collected. I would love to find a forever home with owners who can give me lots of love, attention, and affection. I am a very good girl who just wants to find a family to love and take care of. I was born on thanksgiving day 2024! I am microchipped, UTD vaccinations, on a monthly flea and tick and heartworm pill. My rescue knows who my mommy is, but unsure of who my daddy is. My mommy is 50 pounds, and according to a chart, I am expected to be between 50-75 pounds! I am smaller than my brother, so i could potentially stay on the smaller side?? I can be cat tested upon request ( unless my rescue was able to do this prior to you finding my profile), just ask woofwoof fosters ( my rescue), they would be happy to answer any questions! Please visit me and take me home! www.woofwooffosters.org is my rescues website! Thank you for reading about me! Hope to see you soon!
