You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $400 plus tax Are you looking for a dog to have active adventures with? Look no further because Chilly is ready and willing! He absolutely adores his people and with his stylish looks, he gains admirers quickly. However, he needs an owner who understands that he gets nervous when strangers try to reach out right away and pet him on the head.  He may bark at them in protest if his owners have not advocated for a slower introduction for him.  He loves doing commands and tricks for his treats and that helps him feel more secure in new surroundings and around new people. He's very proud and eager to show off!  We feel he could benefit from a confident sibling to show him that new scenarios and people are nothing to be afraid of. He has been going to pet friendly places like the local hardware store and Petco and enjoys these training sessions. He can be pretty strong on leash at times but a gentle leader solves that problem and helps him focus on his person better.  He’s very good in the car too so it’s a joy to bring him places. He is mostly done with the puppy chewing stage but he may get bored when left alone so a kennel might still be the best for him. He doesn’t mind his crate and happily runs in there for his meals and when it’s time for his owners to leave the house for work or errands.   Since he’s still very young and active, he would like a home with lots of opportunities to use his brain to learn new things and go on plenty of adventures!  He likes playing with his toys and will do a little fetch out in the yard with a variety of toys.  He also loves to help get ice cubes out of the freezer!  What a clown… and don’t worry, he will seek out attention and let you know when it’s time to get off the couch or put down your phone to go have fun and embrace life He's been nothing but fantastic with all the other dogs he's met, big and small—always looking for a playmate.  He has been enjoying trips to the dog park and checks in with his foster owners frequently.  Deep down, he's just a big happy dog who's loving life right now! This fun, smart, boy has a lot to offer and will make you smile and laugh every day!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾 Meet Mr. Miyagi – Master of Fetch & Zen Snuggles 🐾 Looking for a four-legged sensei to teach you the art of unconditional love? Mr. Miyagi, a wise-yet-goofy 6-year-old, 50-lb pup, is ready to wax on, wax off… and maybe fetch that tennis ball about a thousand times. Like his legendary namesake, this Miyagi believes in balance—half couch-potato philosopher, half playful martial arts prodigy. Morning snuggles are his meditation, and when it’s time for action, he’s all about fetch kata (complete with perfect “drop the ball” technique). He’s a quick study, already fluent in “sit” and “stay,” and seems to understand more human words than he lets on. Loud noises and sudden changes can throw off his inner chi, so he’s searching for a calm, toddler-free (or older-kid only) dojo where he can truly master the good life. ✨ Mr. Miyagi’s Training Highlights: • 6 years old, perfectly balanced at 50 lbs • Morning snuggle black belt 🥋 • Fetch master—ball retrieval at tournament level • Leash-walking pro, park-day enthusiast • Wise soul with a delightfully wonky tail that wags like a victory crane kick From rope-toy sparring to backyard meditations, Mr. Miyagi is ready to teach his forever family the greatest lesson of all: love is the ultimate tournament win. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Mr. Miyagi show you the way of the paw.

Story
Quincy is a 16-month-old Aussie Pointer mix, smart, playful, and full of personality. He came to us after biting his former owner, an older woman who couldn’t meet his training needs. Since then, he’s made huge progress: he learns quickly, loves praise, and is gaining confidence with things that once scared him. Indoors, he’s calm and impressively respectful. He doesn’t counter surf, even when human food is left out without supervision. He waits patiently for meals, sleeps soundly through the night, and now tolerates things like ear drops without fuss. He’s truly blossoming into a well-mannered, better-socialized dog. Quincy enjoys children in calm, supervised settings, but due to his bite history should be placed in a home with teenagers or adults only. His main challenge is guarding small chews or items he thinks he shouldn’t have. Quincy shines when he knows what’s expected. With structure, patience, and an experienced hand, he’ll be a loyal, loving companion for life.

Story
Welcome Oaks to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Oaks is a 1.5 year old German Short haired pointer and German Shepherd. He is about 48 pounds and a good weight. He is good in a car, potty trained, doggy door trained and lives with six children starting at age 2. He also lives with 6 other dogs and does fine. He would be great with a family and children would be fine. We like them to be 8 or older. He is smart, laid back, good with other dogs and bonds deeply to his family. He is a little timid with strangers but comfortable with his people. His foster family is going to start taking him places so he can get used to changes in environment and other people. He is smart but he doesn’t like to retrieve like his sister does. He is a nice dog and naturally a little protective to his family. He would be great with a family that the dad travels and he wants to feel that his family is safe and taken care of. He is a moderate shedding dog and with his long legs would be a great walking or jogging companion. He is neutered, healthy and getting his vaccinations and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💖 Meet Maggie – Proof That Love Heals Everything 💖 Maggie is an 18-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a heart that’s pure gold and a spirit that refuses to be dimmed. This stunning girl has been through more than any pup ever should — she survived a terrible act of cruelty when someone poured acid on her back. But here’s the thing about Maggie: she’s not letting her past write her future. Her scars tell a story of survival, but her heart tells one of forgiveness, hope, and joy. Despite everything, Maggie greets every person she meets with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and that unmistakable “happy to see ya!” GSP grin. She’s living proof that sometimes the best way to move on is with zoomies, kisses, and a whole lot of love. True to her breed, Maggie is an athlete at heart — she loves to run, swim, and even knows how to dock dive! Give her a ball or a squeaky toy, and she’ll turn playtime into an Olympic event. She thrives on activity and would be happiest with an adopter who understands the GSP breed and can keep her mind and body busy. Maggie is great with people big and small, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and while she hasn’t met any cats yet… let’s just say, with her pointer instincts, it might be best to stick to furry friends that bark. 😉 She’s ready to leave her past behind and leap — quite literally — into her next adventure. If you’re looking for a companion who embodies resilience, joy, and a heart full of second chances, Maggie’s your girl. 🐾 Apply at haydudeequine.org and let Maggie show you how love truly conquers all. ❤️
