Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Twilight is a pointer mix, around 12 weeks old and 12 lb. She is very sweet and friendly with all people. She is the more outgoing or confident one. She likes to play with other dogs and will initiate play sessions. She is still very sweet and calm for a puppy and respectful of our dogs. She sleeps through the night and is doing great with potty training. Needs some encouragement with walks, but is making progress. Is a smart girl and knows sit and down and is treat motivated. . Email  almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com  for an adoption application for Twilight!  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us atAlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 6, 2023, 9:07 pm

Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Stripe (from a patriotic themed litter) is about 11 weeks old and 10 lb. He is a super sweet and relatively calm puppy who gets along with all of the dogs and kids in his foster home. He’s a gorgeous pup with striking tiger stripes and expressive eyes. He’s already working on crate, house, and leash training in his foster home and will need continued practice in his forever home. He’s a typical teething puppy but he tries to be gentle with his love nibbles. He’d be happy paired with a confident resident dog and a fenced yard for play time. Email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to learn more about and meet Stripe!    (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Story
Bella is energetic, cuddly, and protective. She loves to be outside but also love cuddling up next to you on the couch. She loves treats and her basket of toys. She has gone through training at Sit Means Sit Philadelphia and has a sweet certificate to show for it. She knows all of her commands and is house trained and crate trained. She does need to some extra training and attention when being introduced to new people. I unfortunately have to rehome her because I am moving to another state for work and will be traveling multiple times a month which is not a fair situation for Bella. I would love to see her go to a great home that can provide her lots of love and attention.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Our sweet Brandy came to us in October 2017 when she was about 9 months old, so she is about 6 years old. She was born the runt of the litter. Her owner gave her to my husband who suddenly passed away this January, 2023. Our daughter is in college and I will be relocating and downsizing so I will need to re-home her when the house sells. She is house trained, loves to run and cuddle, and is quiet except for when someone is at the door. She is a loving dog and is content to nap in her dog bed as well as chase birds or squirrels in the yard. She has been a good family dog and gets along with all people and other dogs.
