Story
Meet Bo! Bo is a 5 year old, 45lb pointer mix. Bo is housebroken & knows basic & even some intermediate commands. He is just as happy snuggling as he is walking, running and burning off some energy. Because of his energy, he needs a home with older children and someone that will help guide and teach Bo to become his best self. Bo has interacted fine with other dogs but always started slowly on a neutral space. He’s never been to a doggie day camp but has spent some time with 2 or three at a time. He hasn’t shown a preference for male or females – he loves everyone but again, can show his love a little too strongly for little ones so a home without small children is needed. A fenced yard for him to run and “zoomie” would be great but not a requirement. BO is currently seeking a permanent place to lay his head but he said he would love someone to consider fostering him. Maybe a foster can help find him a home – or just maybe the foster would make Bo part of their home. To Adopt or Foster Bo: complete an adoption or foster application. Story
8/2/2023 Holly/Junebug is a 4-5 year old pointer mix. (She is being listed as Junebug but answers to Holly.) She was recently surrendered because her humans were older with some medical issues, and they found it hard to physically take care of her. Holly/Junebug has spent the past few years as a couch potato and is very content to lie around most of the day. She is an all day nibbler for her food but will beg any time you are eating. If you tell her "no" or "go lie down", she usually does (although with a grumpy groan). She is a curious and friendly dog. Holly/Junebug loves to investigatewith her nose everything, everywhere. You will often need to remind her to keep going because she gets so focused on a patch of grass or a tree. We have been getting her out on walks as much as we can but she tires easily due to being a little overweight. She does enjoy the walks and with enough breaks is happy to keep going! She has met a few dogs on walks and loves to say hello to both them and their humans. Holly/Junebug isn't overly excited when meeting someone new, just curious. She will approach slowly and smell gently. She appreciates pets from pretty much anyone. Holly/Junebug does not like cats. She cries when she sees them and tries to go the other way. However, she loves squirrels and bunnies and will actually try to chase them. It's one of the few times you need to make sure you are holding on to the leash tightly! She hasn't had any accidents in the house so far and has mainly peed or pooped on walks or in the backyard. We have left her alone for about 9 hours at the most and she has been fine. She was not used to sleeping in a crate with her previous family but has adjusted quickly and without a problem. 7/14/2023Hey! I'm Holly, formerly known as Junebug T. Dalton! I'm back on the market, baby! You see, my family has had some health issues and they were unable to continue to care for me, so I'll be back in a foster home shortly. As you can see, I'm a rather full figured gal, so the first order of business is for me to go on a diet. I don't know what that means, but I do know I need to drop a few lbs in order to keep living my best life -after all, I'm only 4-5 years old and I have lots of living left to do! I am currently 80 lbs., housebroken, and I get along well with everyone (except those darn cats!). Kids, adults, other dogs, all good. I like to hang out on the couch and I'm very sweet and affectionate. I used to be crate trained, but now I am known to be trustworthy in the house. No crate necessary! I should probably get back into the habit of a brisk walk now and then to help with my slimming program. I do love treats, so a focus on healthy foods would be most welcome! I'd like to return to my former glory (seriously, check out my beautiful markings and golden brown eyes!). Can you help me realize my gorgeous German shorthair pointer potential and join me in my hot girl summer? Story
Do you have Aussie experience?  Do you want an extremely loyal, Velcro, friend?   My name is SHANE.  Give me time, attention, and oh yea, treats and I will be your loyal friend to the end.  My foster family has taken the time to get to know ME and understand ME and know that Aussie – Pitties need time to learn to trust, love and respect.  I do like certain dogs, and I am willing to try to get to know them and be friends, my play style is “you are the cattle and I am the cattle dog”.  Quite frankly I would be fine being your one and only,  I crave all the attention.   I would really like a forever home that has room for me to run, exercise and stimulate my mind. SHANE is neutered and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. His adoption fee is $425. Please note that training is strongly recommended for all dogs.  As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing.  Visit WWW.LULUSRESCUE.ORG for an overview of the Lulu's Rescue adoption process.  Thank you for adopting and saving a life -- you are SHANE hero!September 21, 2023, 8:37 pm
