ABOUT SARA
Are you looking for a lovable couch potato to join you for your movie nights? Sweet Sara may be the perfect fit for you! Sara is 4-year-old pointer/terrier mix who came to us in 2022 from an out of state, high-intake shelter partner. She was adopted just months after arriving, and spent years in a loving home. Sadly, in 2025, Sara’s owner passed away and Sara had to come back to the shelter. Understandably, it took Sara some time to adjust to being back in the shelter, but with patience, she was able to open up and quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite! This sweet girl LOVES car rides, lounging in the sun, and taking long naps, she’s truly a professional napper at heart. Treats are another one of her favorite things, but you probably guessed that already! Sara enjoys a nice, brisk walk and will happily trot alongside you, but she's just as content relaxing on a cozy bed or chewing on her favorite toys. She loves stuffed animals, tennis balls, and Nyla bones, though she’ll be the first to tell you that the stuffing is the best part of any plush toy. In her previous home, Sara lived with kids and another dog, and she’s made a few doggy acquaintances here at the shelter too! She is an easygoing, lovable companion who's ready to bring joy, snuggles, and maybe a little fluff from her toys into your life!
*Sara arrived to us a bit overweight. She is currently on a weight loss journey, celebrating one pound down! Come congratulate Sara with a low-calorie treat!
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
