Story
Meri is a smart and curious little girl. She is one of the first puppies to run up and greet us as she loves people. She will often break away from her siblings and playmates to explore her play area, looking for a toy or just to check things out. Meri is a funny girl, she gets animated when asking for attention. She keeps herself busy when she needs to. She gets along well with the other puppies, she will make a great addition to most families. We are unsure of the exact breed mix this beautiful girl is, even with a photo of mom. We believe she will be a large sized dog as an adult in the 55+ lb range. She is growing fast, we will do our best to keep her photos updated, but just know that she may be a bit bigger. These photos were taken on 3/1/26. We suspect she has Cattle Dog in her, if so she may be do well with super young children, as this breed tends to be "nippy" as they are a hearding breed. She will come current on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and is on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. **This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing.** ______________________________ Considering adoption? Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link) https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/dog Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email. A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application - COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email. DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT. All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. *** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

LOCATION: Luray, VA Chip's adoption fee is fully sponsored by Merry D'Ambrisi - lucky pup! 🐶 Meet Chip! Chip is a fun-loving, energetic pup with a big heart and an impressive affinity for fetch 🎾—he’s truly a natural athlete! Whether he’s chasing a ball or entertaining himself with his toys, Chip brings a playful spirit and joy to everyday life. Since entering foster care, Chip has made incredible progress 🌟 and continues to grow more confident every day. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, he’s really blossoming into a wonderful companion. 💛 Personality & Home Life Chip may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate and loyal personality shines. He forms strong bonds and loves being close to his people—whether that’s relaxing on the couch 🛋️ or leaning in for a head scratch. He thrives in a home that offers structure, encouragement, and a calmer environment where he can continue building confidence. • Fenced yard preferred: Chip loves having space to run and play freely. • Exercise: He’s an active pup who benefits from regular playtime and walks (and he’s improving on leash every day!). • Dog companion: A confident, friendly dog sibling who likes to play could be a wonderful influence and help

Story
Grizzly is the most active, sweet, energetic, and playful dog you’ll ever meet. He has some quirks, but he is a great dog. He was found out on the street and taken in and cared for. He gets along great with other dogs, loves to play, and an amazing dog for any family. Grizzly needs to have an active lifestyle as he is an energetic breed. He is very smart and easily trained. Due to having a night shift busy schedule, we are unfortunately unable to fulfill Grizzly’s needs. He is truly a one of a kind sweet boy that’s loves attention.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. NOTE- MUTTLEY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.  Valley View Animal Rescue email: amybennettwashburn@gmail.com Phone: (540) 862-1756Muttley is one of eight puppies we took in back in August of 2025. Six of his siblings have been adopted, but he and his brother, Scrappy, are still looking for furever homes! He is a playful and curious pal with very adoring eyes and loves everyone that he meets. While he prefers to dine alone at a table for one, he loves playing with other pups and would enjoy a canine sibling. Muttley wants to be your next best friend to take EVERYWHERE, whether it be Petsmart, family gatherings, or a day out in nature. He would best suit a home with a fenced-in yard and someone willing to continue his training.   Would you consider making him a new member of your household? Six of his siblings have found furever homes, but he and his brother, Muttley, are still searching. He is a resilient and brave dog, having had a scar on his back and an umbilical hernia as a pup, which have both been corrected and proven no further complications. Scrappy loves to run, play, and explore, and would be a good companion for hiking trips and other outdoor activities. He is very food motivated (and prefers to eat alone) and could use some obedience/leash training paired with regular play time and exercise. He enjoys making friends with humans and dogs alike and would make a wonderful dog for an active family. Could he be the one for you?   For more information, contact the phone number above or to apply, our adoption application link is: https://forms.office.com/r/qpqJJH6CD2 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2026, 12:07 pm

Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Poppy is a great all around family dog and one who you will be proud to call 'Our girl.' Her foster says 'She is a total sweetheart', and she gave us a great write up on Poppy, so you can get to know her before you ever see her.  Poppy is happiest when lying in the sun or napping next to you on the couch. She also likes to sleep at the end of the bed next to your feet.  She is completely housetrained and has never had an accident in the house (she currently enjoys the freedom of a fenced in yard for potty breaks). She will let you know when it is time to play with her tennis ball or go for her daily walk to explore the neighborhood by giving you a look and a bark. Unfortunately, she has issues with smaller dogs and has bitten them when provoked or feeling jealous, so no smaller dogs in her new family. She plays well with bigger dogs and goes to doggy daycare twice a week for socialization, where the staff absolutely adores her. She currently lives with a 70lb coonhound mix who she likes to play with. Poppy came to us three years ago with severe separation anxiety issues but has come a long way and does well for a few hours in her “indestructible” crate – just give her a peanut butter-filled Kong and she will do okay while you go out for a bit. Poppy is looking for a home where she can be the center of your world and she will repay you with unconditional love and companionship. What makes Poppy great… ·         Relatively low energy dog who just enjoys being with her owner(s). She has bouts of energy and will want to play fetch but never for too long. ·         Zero food aggression. She eats when she is hungry, and she loves to savor her treats and thinks ice cubes are the best treat ever! ·         Loves to go on walks and they don’t have to be super long – 10-15 minutes a night keeps her happy, but will happily join you on a longer walk when possible. ·         LOVES people and will happily greet your guests with enthusiasm. She has been around small children with no issues. ·         Well socialized with dogs her size or bigger by going to doggy daycare twice a week (and will be zonked out all night after a day of playing). However, she seems to be more interested in people than other dogs in general. ·         Knows basic commands like sit, shake and come. ·         She is great in cars. She will chill out in the back seat and just enjoy the view. ·         Overall very healthy with no major issues. Where Poppy has some challenges… ·         Separation anxiety – would not do well for long days without someone home – highly recommended that she be crated while alone to avoid any damage to property. ·         Aggression toward smaller dogs – when feeling jealous or annoyed. ·         Good on leash but could use more training/reinforcement as she will get overly excited (pulling, barking) when she sees another dog.   Full of life and love, she is all ready to be yours. She has had a complete vetting and has all her shots. All she needs now to complete her world is for you to clip on your leash, bend over, and say 'Let's go home, Poppy'. If you are interested in Poppy, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2026, 12:07 pm
