What can we say about Swan Lake? Beauty, grace, elegance, style – these are all things that this mutt has in spades! As a gorgeously dignified work of art, Swan Lake is reluctant to share the stage; while she gets along fine one on one, too many dogs can overwhelm this demure diva. Swan Lake is a cuddler, so she’d feel most comfortable in your lap or by your side, and woe betide the unlucky who try to squeeze between you! In many ways, Swan Lake looks like a typical Pom, but she has phenomenal fangs that jut proudly forward and provide just a glimpse of her tongue. Every good star needs to stand out, and this little Pom would like to make your home her stage! Here's some notes from her foster: Swan Lake is the most adorable thing! since my last foster, and the foster before her, and the foster before her, and the foster before him, etc. What can I say? I'm partial to all of them, and Swan Lake is no exception. It's been a cakewalk fostering her. Swan Lake is an amenable and compliant dog. It's not hard getting her to take medication or wear a cone. She eats when she's hungry and stops when she's full. Not a great drinker, but it works for me because I can't stand dogs that can't hold their licker (haha). Swan Lake does her business, both #1 and #2, on pee pads while she is learning about outside potty time. Swan Lake is pretty agile. She has no problems getting from Point A to Point B. She rides well in the car; she's not afraid of elevators; and she can go up and down stairs without help or needing encouragement. Best of all, as limber as she is, you don't have to worry about her injuring herself taking a flying leap off a tall bed. Swan Lake definitely knows her limits. Swan Lake is a natural when it comes to excitable greetings, happy dances, and full body wags. She's always happy, even excited, to see me. It didn't take long at all for us to reach an understanding. I would say that she is more timid than shy. She's light as a feather and loves being held. Swan Lake doesn't squirm and goes limp in a blissed-out sort of way as I hold her against me. But I don't flatter myself. Anyone can hold, hug, lift, nuzzle, pat, snuggle and whisper sweet nothings in her ear. On the ground, she may seem skittish, but in your arms, she really knows how to enjoy herself. Swan Lake likes people, but she seems to prefer a wider berth from other dogs. Small on the outside but no pushover on the inside, she sometimes growls when a dog invades her personal boundaries. Fortunately, she doesn't go any further than a low growl. Swan Lake doesn't seem too interested in my rabbits either. Swan Lake sleeps soundly through the night. She lays next to, almost on me, over the covers, never under. She is very vigilant and takes notice when I get up in the middle of the night. It's part of what makes her such a loving dog. Swan Lake just wants to be my little buddy and do whatever it is that I'm doing, whether that's watching tv, communing with my dogs, or hanging with everyone at the dog park. She's a joiner, not a loner. And did I mention how quiet she is? I think I've only heard her bark once.

Taz is an incredibly sweet and affectionate nine pound true lap-lover who adores curling up for cuddles and happily burrows under blankets at bedtime. Once he trusts someone, his gentle and loving nature really shines. Taz can get a bit overwhelmed in busy environments or around groups of people, and he gets nervous in the car. However, with patience and consistency, he has made wonderful progress. Taz would thrive in a peaceful, stable home. He is house trained, and walks well on leash. Because Taz is still learning to feel safe in new environments, and quick movements and unpredictable behavior from small children can be overwhelming, an adult-only home would be best. We rescued Arlo who was at a city shelter since the end of August. He was running out of time and the shelter is over-crowded. He was deemed rescue-only because he is smart and didn’t want to walk back into shelter cage after play yard and growled. He talks. At the shelter he was in a cage with 2 other dogs for 23 hours per day. In play yard fine with other small dogs. He was curious of feral cats in parking lot but only looked and did not lunge. Listened to handler. Loves treats. Fine meeting our transporter being petted and going into his crate. Quiet during hour long car ride. At his experienced hero foster home and groomer he is doing fine. Sniffing and exploring with her 3 small social dogs in their yard and inside home. More info to come from his hero foster home as he relaxes. Welcome Arlo! 11/9/25: Doing well with foster home's 3 dogs. Friendly and curious of home and yard. He did try to guard (growled) his sofa space from people telling him off. So no sofa or bed space til he learns not to guard his space and should stay off furniture for now. When he does sneak up on the sofa he has learned to get off with a growl but gets down. 12/1/25: Arlo needs an experienced foster home for one on one training and supervision at home as the only dog at home. Now that he is comfortable he wants to be the top dog and got into a fight with their 7 lbs dog. He is leash trained and great on walks. At home he needs to stay off sofa and bed so he can't resource guard space. Due to many dogs at the current home he marked the pillow on foster's bed so they prefer he be moved to a home with less dogs and can keep him off furniture or set up dog pen area or room. Use bladder wrap inside home. He does go out to their yard for potty biz. 12/3/25: He will now go to emergency boarding since he got into a fight with their small dog.December 10, 2025, 12:09 am
