Story
Lombard’s big reveal came during his stay with the Good Samaritan who found him in a Costco parking lot. Recovering as an honored guest at her horse rescue, handsome Lom the Pom made himself right at home with cats, dogs, people, horses and, most of all, kids, who happily mobbed him on their group visits to the ranch. He arrived at Muttville ready for second helpings of everything -- cuddles, treats, sniffs, pets and gentle TLC. Families, singletons, cowboys or cat herders: Come on down! He’s a perfect fit. Here's some notes from his foster: Lombard came home, immediately went potty outside and passed out in his bed. When he woke up, he happily chowed down his food and medication! He doesn’t seem too familiar with walking on a leash but he walks wherever you gently guide him. He didn’t seem to have any issues when we left him alone for a bit. He was sleeping in his bed when we got back. He gets random burst of energy where he trots all over house and explores for a few min until he finds a place to snooze! Lombard truly feels like a teddy bear and makes great eye contact. We’re convinced that stuffed animals are modeled after his face and eyes! We’re always wondering what’s going on in his head but I think he’s slowly piecing together that he’s in a safe environment and he’s beginning to blossom! He gobbles up his food fast and loves treats! Lombard took a liking to my roommate and follows him around the house and outside! He hasn’t had one accident yet! When he has energy, he does the stairs like a pro! Lombard is slowly coming out of his shell and blossoming a little every day! He wakes up and wants all the pets! He follows us around to each room. I think he might be a little deaf but makes fantastic eye contact. He goes potty outside and is friendly with every dog we have encountered. He usually just sleeps or chills in the room we’re in and seems completely fine being left alone! He sleeps through the night in his dog bed and wakes up when we wake up. He has the cutest little trot and pep in his step. He can handle a couple stairs just fine but anymore than 5, he’s okay with being carried! He is not a barker!

Story
Please welcome our newest little adventurer to Muttville! Raider is a 15 years-young fluffy black beauteous bean of a Pom, who has seen more than a few wild, daring adventures, sadly, not ALL of them fun and games. But he is quickly proving himself to be a strong, resilient, wonderful little dude. The main profile photo here is from a previous (non-Muttville) adoption, as he was in need of a glam-up spa treatment when he arrived. Soon, he will look even more gorgeous than this!! Shortly after arriving, he needed a few days to adjust (don't we all?), but then his true personality emerged, and he was trotting about, greeting everyone with a cheerful Pom "hello!", and generally settling in well. He loves people, dogs and walkies! Come meet Raider -- we are certain you will not be disappointed to make the acquaintance of this very special pup. Here's some notes from his foster: This little old man is such a sweet boy. He is so soft and such a cuddler, he is happiest just sitting with you and being pet. He definitely seems to be a morning pup, he snoozes after dinner ~7pm and is pretty much snuggled and snoozed until ~7am. He seems to have the most energy in the first half of the day and then is pretty mellow from late afternoon on. The only time he seems to bark is when he wants attention. I’ll be sitting next to him and if I stop petting him he gets kinda grumbly or barks (it is kinda silly and cute though I will say haha) We have learned that he loves canned tuna, so we have been using that to hide his meds in so he has been taking them no problem. I think Raider would do well in a home with someone who is home often and wants a dog that just wants to be by them all the time. He is such a little angel and he is so so cute!!

Story
Come one, come all and see the fluff-tastic wonder that is a white-faced floof ball! Aileen is proof that age is just a number and cute puppy-like zoomies can happen at any age. A bit of vision impairment doesn’t stop her; with a home filled with extra love and care, she will be able to safely navigate her new space to get all the snuggles. Aileen is a master friend maker who is ready to give anyone a friendly hello – she uses any opportunity for a human or doggy cuddle. If you want a bundle of sweetness and joy that is sure to turn heads anywhere you go, come and punch your ticket to the small dog wonder show! Here's some notes from her foster: Don’t let snooze-leen at the shelter fool you, she is much more engaging and active at home! Yes, she does sleep a decent amount, but she also loves exploring the yard, following us around the house, riding in the sling to the local pub, and rolling in the grass at the park. She is very capable of doing stairs, and will use steps to get onto the couch or bed. She’s an expert food beggar, and has some of the famous Chihuahua spice in her if another dog gets in her face. She seems to really enjoy people and being carried, which at 7lbs is very easy to do, and she really is ok living with other dogs of all sizes, but will use her words like Clint Eastwood telling them to stay off her lawn! She is totally fine being left alone during the day, and is great at going potty any time we take her out, but may have an accident if left too long like any dog would. We do think she’s deaf, and she’s blind in one eye, but can definitely see out the other, so if you wave a hand at her, she will come toddling over to say hello and get scritches. She’s an absolute doll and one of my favorite dogs we’ve ever fostered. If you’re looking for a very easy keep to boost your mood, Aileen is the one for you!

Story
FOSTER TO ADOPT OPTION AVAILABLE    Scotch is one of our newest cuties, ready for adoption! He is approximately three years old and 12-13 pounds. Scotch is seeking a home in the SF Bay Area with one to two adults to dote on him. He can happily be an only dog; Scotch would love all of the love and affection.  Scotch has been learning so much in his foster home. He has picked up on the basic commands..sit, come, touch, and bed. Scotch is great on leash. Scotch trots briskly alongside his foster parents with no reaction to other dogs on his neighborhood travels. Check out the video. Look at how he focuses on his foster dad.  Scotch is a nice blend of cuddle and independence. He enjoys sofa time and hanging with his foster parents. He sleeps throughout the night in his dog bed in the front room of his foster home.  Scotch is a Pomeranian-mix which might be part of his tendency to be vocal with new people and outside distractions when watching out the window. That could be a challenge for anyone in an apartment/condo environment. He does settle down quickly.  Scotch is still adapting and can be reactive to having his harness put on and he doesn't really to be picked up. This is why Scotch is best suited for a home without children.  Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. To recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Scotch is $300. If you are interested in adopting Scotch , please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ April 15, 2025, 9:46 pm
