Story
Franky is truly a special boy with the sweetest soul. He is incredibly loving and affectionate, often seeking out cuddles and happily leaning in to be held. He enjoys spending time with his people just as much as he enjoys quietly coexisting and playing with other dogs.
Franky has shown gentle curiosity around cats — he likes to sniff and observe them and has been very respectful in his interactions. In the home, he’s an easy companion. He’s quiet to the point that you may occasionally have to check in on him, only to find him curled up on a cozy blanket or resting beside another dog.
He is doing well with house manners and has not had any accidents. Franky tends to graze rather than eat full meals at once, and his foster family is helping him continue to settle into a routine. He has been working through some marking behavior, so he wears a disposable belly band when roaming independently in the house. When cuddling, being held, or resting in his kennel, he does not need one, and we’re hopeful this habit will continue to improve with time and consistency.
Franky is missing one eye, and to help orient himself, he may occasionally do a gentle counterclockwise turn to take in his surroundings. Once he feels comfortable, he confidently moves forward — it’s simply part of how he navigates the world and doesn’t slow him down.
Franky is a calm, affectionate, and loving companion who will thrive in a patient, understanding home ready to adore him as much as he adores them.
Franky was surrendered to our care as the other male dog in the home picked on him. He has been diagnosed with Alopecia X for which he has started medication and has one eye due to an old injury. He is not expected to need any surgery on the eye for the old injury.
Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog.
If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
