Story
Ronnie is a 2-year-old, black and white Pomeranian that is absolutely gorgeous and he knows it. He has a tendency to be a little hyper around other dogs, as he LOVES to play with them, and we were told he would not leave the cats alone at the home where he used to live which was why he was given away. He was living outside in a pen 24/7 when his rescuer asked if she could have him. She promptly brought him to us to find a superb home for him. Ronnie settles once he gets your undivided attention when outside or when he is inside, in an x-pen so he doesn’t bowl over the elderly dogs that live at his foster home. When he is outside he has the company of both a 40 pound and a 55 pound dog to play with. He was groomed on 12/29 and will be neutered on 1/5/26. Ronnie weighed 14.4 pounds on 12/18/25. He is up to date on vaccinations including Bordetella and is heartworm negative. He walks on a leash with only a little pulling and does well riding in a car when crated. Ronnie is being fostered in Arkansas. Ronnie’s adoption donation is $865 which includes the $165 transport cost. If you would like to adopt this beautiful boy, please fill out an adoption application. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

He’s super loving and affectionate, and he adores being the center of attention. Like a classic Pomeranian, Target is confident, expressive, and full of personality. He’s playful, charming, and a little bit dramatic in the cutest way. He’ll happily follow his person around like a loyal little shadow, soak up all the love, and proudly rule his kingdom (aka your home 🥰).

Story
Meet Mi’jo — a tiny senior gentleman with a heart full of love. Mi’jo is a 10-year-old, 12-pound sweetheart who embodies everything wonderful about senior dogs: calm, gentle, affectionate, and endlessly grateful for every moment with his people. He’s housetrained, crate trained, and has the sweetest, softest presence in the home. Mi’jo enjoys the simple joys of life—slow strolls, sniffing around the yard, cozy naps, and treats (he LOVES treats!). Despite having typical senior-dog challenges like dim vision, some arthritis, and spondylosis, he’s still active, comfortable, and happily engaged in his daily routines. He currently lives with several other dogs and gets along beautifully with everyone, but due to his small size and gentle nature, Mi’jo would do best in a quiet home without rambunctious dogs or small children. He also isn’t suited for homes with lots of stairs unless they can be securely blocked off. Mi’jo is a quiet little man, though he does enjoy gently reminding the Amazon driver that he’s still on duty as a loyal protector. Most of the time, though, you’ll find him cuddled up on the couch, snoozing peacefully. This sweet boy has been fully vetted, including labwork, a dental cleaning, and a thorough exam. He had very poor teeth and required 16 extractions, so he now eats soft food (or Fresh Pet) and enjoys soft treats—Pill Pockets are his favorite! He takes a daily NSAID to keep him comfortable and feeling good. Mi’jo is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by warmth, safety, and gentle companionship. Could your heart and couch be the perfect place for him? Email info@joyrides.org to request an application. Mi'jo is being fostered in Jersey City, NJ and is available for adoption locally or in the NE. We can meet you halfway!

Story
DOB 11-25-2022 Gina spent her short life in a breeding facility until just a few months ago. She gave birth to 3 little puppies but had no milk. We were given the option to purchase her and her puppies so of course we did. Gina is a sweet 8 pound girl, she is a little shy but gets along great with others, she loves to run in the yard, play and is now a pretty social girl. She has been spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and received a ProHeart6 protection injection. Gina's adoption fee is 850.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they run every other week to their stops on the East Coast. They are the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here.
