PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Toby! Toby is approximately 10 months old, 10 lbs and he might have some fox in his mix, LOL! In his foster home, he is working hard on house training, crate training, and leash walking. He could join households with kids 5+, and other playful dogs. No cats, please! His foster says, `Toby is adorableness wrapped in a 10lb body that makes him look like a tiny fox. If you remember Chester from Looney Tunes, that is who Toby resembles. He jumps around and barks to get others to play. He plays chase all around my house with a 45lb Vizsla. It is the cutest thing. True to puppy style, he crashes hard after playing hard. He will make someone a great playmate and companion.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on September 11th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
Meet Mandy! How can you look at this face and NOT want to smush her? She's like a living, breathing cloud. If this doesn't give you a severe case of cute aggression or the tiniest bit of the warm-and-fuzzies...you might want to get that checked out.Mandy is a sweet senior lady looking for her forever home. She's about ten years old and a whopping 10lbs. She's a friendly, social girl looking for her knitting circles...or her book club...or maybe a gardening club?Mandy's only red flag is that she doesn't like her feet being touched. She HATES IT with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. She hates her paws being touched, hates her nails being trimmed, and will make it KNOWN. She will flail, kick, snap...and then immediately stop once you're no longer touching her feet. She's also kind enough not to hold a grudge and will be your best friend like it never even happened.Mandy peacefully coexists with other dogs but doesn't really seem to care about their existence one way or another. Obviously we wouldn't place her with dogs that are a lot bigger or more energetic than she is because she deserves to live her golden years in peace. She would be fine with cats - again, she doesn't seem to care about them one way or another. Kids 12+ because...like we said, she deserves to live her golden years in peace. If you're looking for a chill little lap dog, Mandy is your gal. She likes her walks but is just as content to curl up next to you on the couch. She does have a collapsing trachea - common in small, older dogs. Harnesses will need to be used instead of collars and the key will be to keep her calm. Regular vet care will be required and treatment will vary depending on severity and what you and your vet deem the best course of action. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com.

Story
Dearest gentle reader...The Ton is positively abuzz and not over courtships or clandestine glances but because this author has uncovered the most delightful bachelor of diminutive stature within the hallowed halls of Forever Paws Animal Shelter. An even rarer jewel of only the most remarkable brilliance, fire, and luster has been unearthed.Lord Whistlepom intends to dominate this social season.Lord Whistlepom is three years of age, weighs a rather hefty, for his breed, sixteen pounds, and possesses the confidence of a duke thrice his stature. While he can be quite the charmer, do not make the mistake of confusing his sunny disposition with an open invitation to fuss over him - he has proven to be rather particular about how some attentions are administered, particularly any sort of veterinary handling, restraint, or grooming. He will make his displeasure widely known and firmly assert his boundaries without due ceremony. Prospective admirers would do well to understand that, beneath his cheerful exterior, lies a gentleman who requires patience, experience, thoughtful handling, and a respectful approach. He would, by all accounts, be delightful at a garden party should no one arrive brandishing nail clippers.Lord Whistlepom comes with a favorable report from his previous residence in that he resided alongside felines and conducted himself quite pleasurably in their company. The gossip remains mysteriously inconclusive as to how he would conduct himself around other canines though rest assured this author has eyes and ears everywhere and those details will be provided accordingly. There is one point upon which we will be quite firm - this bachelor is actively seeking a home without children. Given his sensitivities surrounding particular handling, an understanding adult-only household will provide him with the best opportunity to bloom. For those among you who find yourselves taken with our charming gentleman, please visit foreverpaws.com and select "adopt" to download the application. Once it is completed, you can email the application to fpas1@foreverpaws.com.

Story
Meet Dolly Pomton! If you're thinking that Dolly was named after the late, great, deeply beloved Dolly Parton who radiated nothing but kindness and warmth and love to every single thing she came across...You would be correct.Dolly Pomton is similar to Dolly Parton not only because she also has big hair and a smile that makes you melt...but because she, too, absolutely adores everyone she meets, regardless of who you are or where you came from. Dolly Pomton is about three years old and only 10lbs. She's as affectionate as she is stunning. She'll try to climb all over you, bounce all over your legs, hop in your lap, and want to be wherever you are. Her enthusiasm for life knows no bounds - she seems to never stop dancing whether that means bopping around and in between your feet or squirming in your arms, Dolly is always on the move. We want to stress this because she did come to us as an owner surrender because they simply could not keep up with her. It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world. As one would expect from a pure, tender-hearted dreamer girl, Dolly Pomton has shown absolutely zero red flags with other dogs. She's been very tolerant of their shenanigans and is perfectly happy to coexist with them. She would do best with super patient, dog-savvy cats because she is VERY enthusiastic about wanting to engage with them and may not know when enough is enough. Kids 8+ - she's ridiculously friendly but we just don't know if she's ever been around kids.If you want to swirl in stardust and slow dance with the moon alongside Dolly Pomton, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download the application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com.
