Story
Meet Danny Phantom! 👻This fluffy little cloud with eyeballs is a one year old Pomeranian mix. He weighs a whole entire 9lbs and most of it is fluff. His smile is bigger than the sun itself and just as bright. He is also somehow even softer than he looks. Danny is still very, very much a puppy which includes bouncy, endless energy. He wants to play with anything and everything whether that's toys, other dogs, shoes, it doesn't matter. He's also fearless which is...not always a good thing. He's convinced that he can square up with anything and win despite the fact that he is a sentient cotton ball. He does not understand what a cat growling/hissing means so we would not recommend a home with cats for him. There would be fisticuffs galore and he would not come out the winner no matter how much he thinks he would. In true puppy fashion, Danny Phantom is not housebroken. We really shouldn't have to say this but here it is. He is a puppy. He will require training. He will require time and effort. If you are not willing to put in said time and effort, do not get a puppy. He's also opinionated as heck and LOUD about it. He'll bark at you if you leave, he'll bark at the wind, he'll bark at strangers, he'll bark at ghosts. Basically he has a lot to say and you're going to listen whether you like it or not so apartments/shared walls are probably not the best match for him. He's also a little mouthy (gentle, just another little dog that was never taught that hands aren't toys). The good thing about Danny is that he wants to be your BFF. Right now. Immediately. He wants to entertain you by spinning in circles for no reason. He wants to hop into your lap and take a nap. He wants to bounce alongside you on long walks. He wants to devote himself utterly and completely to you. He loves plush toys/stuffed animals, loves walks, and loves YOU!To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Story
SUPER SWEET ONE EYED DOG! Coco is quiet and crate trained. He loves car rides & getting groomed. He doesn't need a lot of exercise and mostly wants to cuddle with his favorite adults. We adopted Coco in June 2024 from a shelter in the south, where he was found as a stray. An Embark DNA test said he was born in October 2014, but he may be a bit younger. Although he is amazing with adults, he is afraid of children & cats. Unfortunately, our home has plenty of both so we are seeking a better home for him. He is house-trained, but he is a nervous pee-er, so he wears male wraps around the house. I imagine this might get better in a home where he is less anxious and is kept on a schedule. Coco will go home with his crate & bedding, lovey, treats, harness & leash, the rest of his food & diapers and some toys. Coco will make the perfect dog for someone! Please message me with any questions.

Story
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a three-year-old, 27 lb Pomsky (per his previous owner) looking for an experienced and dedicated home. He was surrendered locally after his previous owners failed to provide him with the training, boundaries, and structure he needed to thrive. They saw a cute, fluffy dog and assumed love alone would be enough—it wasn’t. Because of this lack of leadership, Rocky developed resource guarding with high-value items and has bites on record. However, he has been working hard with Rise & Shine K9 on Martha’s Vineyard, where he is learning the structure and guidance he was never given. Travel to the island is required for his meet and greet. Continued training is also required for Rocky. Rocky is dog and cat friendly, but absolutely no children for him. He needs a strong, confident owner who will set firm boundaries and continue his training. Notably, Rocky responds better to men when it comes to structure and listening. That said, with the right handler, Rocky is an incredible companion—he would make an excellent hiking buddy, work partner, and all-around loyal pal for someone who will give him the leadership he needs. Rocky does great out and about being social, he's a star at the local bark park!  If you are an experienced handler who understands the importance of structure and training, Rocky may be the right fit for you. Apply today!     is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
