Story
We rescued Rose from the Western Riverside Shelter on the day she was set to be killed. At 10 years old, Rose has lived a hard life full of neglect. This little girl was a mess: eye infection, ear infection, arthritic paws, extremely underweight and missing hair. But what really caught our attention was the massive benign tumor hanging from her backside. Her vet estimates it had been there for years; dragging her down as she walked. We wanted to get it taken care of right away, but first we needed to get her body strong enough to go under anesthesia. It took four months of medication, tests, proper feeding, and TLC. Finally, on April 22nd, Rose’s body weight and blood work came back strong enough for her to undergo the mass removal and spay surgery. You should see Rose now! She has a new lease on life, zooming, as much as a 10-year-old will, around the house and cuddling with her foster at night. She is so happy! She even has a pug boyfriend. Rose loves belly rubs and ear scratches. She is easy going and happy go lucky. Rose is good with older kids and adult dogs. Too much activity overwhelms her. Rose’s next step is adoption. Her adoption fee is $250. Rose qualifies for our Senior for Seniors program. This program offers a reduced rate for Seniors over 65 years of age ($150 adoption fee for Rose for Seniors). If you or anyone you know is interested in Rose, please fill out our Adoption Application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ouija (we call her Ouija Woo or Weeji Woo if you like &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143) is an adorable pug 2 year old girl! We are looking for a great fit for her new owner as she has a mountain of personality, along with big dog energy even though she’s only 19 lbs. Ouija is a bit possessive of her humans and would do great on her own as an only dog or with easy going big dogs. She will not do good in the home with other little dogs/small pets but is fine with them on a leash, or out socially. She is a little scared meeting new men but warms up fast- especially if you have treats! Ouija will be adopted on a spay contract. Ouija is absolutely adorable, super playful, good with most big dogs so far, good with kids but we haven’t had her around babies or toddlers yet (none in her foster home/exposure). We would not recommend other small animals at this time, including cats. She would do best in a home as an only dog or easy going big dogs. She likes to play periodically in the day, take a nice nap, and comes to you for so many kisses & snuggles, including tummy rubs, and smooshes of her amazing wrinkles! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 She likes to be with her humans so expect typical pug behavior where they want to be with you relaxing, sleeping and hanging out (and everything else)! Ouija is great with her collar & leash training and is mostly potty trained to potty pads though that will need to be reinforced in any new home. Looking for a dedicated owner who understands she is not good with little dogs (except on a leash supervised) and is ready to give her a great life that fits her personality!See all available dogs here: http://www.causeforsbpaws.org/animals/browse Apply here: http://www.causeforsbpaws.org/forms/form?formid=3251  cause4sbpaws@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 22, 2024, 3:50 pm
