Story
Cookie is a smal 6-year-old lap dog who loves to cuddle and be close to her people. She can be a little timid when meeting someone new, but once she feels comfortable, she’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loyal. She’s very smart and has so much love to give. One thing I want to be transparent about is that Cookie isn’t fully potty trained. This isn’t because she’s stubborn or unable to learn. Over the past few years, my mother’s health has declined significantly, and because of that, Cookie hasn’t had the consistent routine and training that every dog needs. She does very well when she’s taken outside on a regular schedule and will also use potty pads inside, but with consistency and patience, I truly believe she can continue to improve. Making the decision to rehome her has been incredibly difficult. My mother’s health has reached a point where she can no longer give Cookie the care, attention, and daily routine she deserves. Cookie deserves a family who has the time to love her,

Story
Scooby is a sweet middle-aged man looking for his forever home. Scooby loves to chill and relax when he is at home. He has been raised around other dogs, kids, and cats (although not his favorite). He loves to spend time outdoors soaking in the sun, but also laying with his human. His favorite thing is sleeping under the covers in his human's bed at night time and chewing on bones and toys. Even though Scooby has lost his sight, he has learned the word 'Up' when you want him to jump on the couch or bed, and also 'Step' when there is a step up or down that he needs to be aware of. He quickly learns his way around the home as well and would do best in an uncluttered home with limited amount of objects on the floor. Scooby is crate trained to stay in the crate during the day when humans are not at home. He does, however, prefer to sleep in the bed, rather than in the crate overnight. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Scooby, please fill out the adoption application and a super cool person from the rescue will contact you to schedule the meet and greet. ** The adoption fee is a tax-deductible contribution to our 501c3 rescue. This fee covers vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and spaying/neutering. Meet and greets will only be arranged after we receive a completed and signed application. Please note that we do not follow a first-come, first-served policy. Instead, we thoroughly evaluate each application to ensure the best possible fit for the pet, considering breed characteristics and the lifestyle of the potential adopter.

Story
This little guy showed up to my neighbor’s front door about six or seven years ago.?He was fully grown at the time, but looked young, maybe a year or two old, so we don’t know his exact age My neighbor, passed away recently, so the pup has been staying with us since. He gets along with my other to dogs great. He loves to go to the dog park and the beach and gets along with everyone. He’s very active when we go out, but also likes to chill on the couch. The owner spent every day with him, so he likes to be around people. I took him to the county to update his license and his rabies shot is good until next year. Also updated his chip registration. He is fixed and he has always been in good health. He seemed to be a bit overweight when he came to live with us, so the vet recommended to drop a few. He’s been doing great since.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Apollo - The Once-Defensive, Now-Doting Uncle Apollo's journey to OURS wasn't exactly smooth. This one-year old pug mix found himself at the shelter, where he was immediately met with what he considered a very rude introduction - vaccinations. We humans know they're necessary, but Apollo wasn't shy about expressing his strong disapproval. His honesty landed him a "rescue only" label, and just like that, he was on borrowed time. Enter OURS. Understandably, Apollo was a little unsure at first. But then - almost overnight - he realized life with us wasn't so bad. In fact, it was pretty great. He's since taken on the role of "Uncle Apollo" to a crew of bottle-fed pug puppies and rambunctious terrier pups, and let us tell you - watching this once-defensive little guy get climbed on and loved by his tiny nieces and nephews is nothing short of heart-melting. Apollo takes a minute to warm up to new people. He might bark at first, but we like to think he's just telling you his story. And once he's shared his tale and decides you're part of it? He's the sweetest, most loyal kiddo around. Apollo is looking for a family who understands that trust takes a moment, but love lasts forever. Could that be you? Apply here to meet Apollo!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2026, 12:33 am
