Story
Meet Charlie — 36 pounds of snuggly chaos wrapped in a Beagle/Pug mystery blend, aged 3 years and fueled entirely by enthusiasm, feelings, and snacks. Charlie is a professional cuddler, elite blanket burrower, and part-time zoomie athlete. He operates on two settings:
1️⃣ Full-throttle play mode — bouncing, leaping, and occasionally expressing himself with a little mouthy enthusiasm
2️⃣ Marshmallow mode — melting into your lap, pressing his face into yours, and tunneling under the covers like a cozy little mole He adores his people. Like, nose-to-nose, please don’t stop petting me, ever level adoration. Affection is his love language, followed closely by treats (more on that in a second). ✨ Training glow-up alert:
Charlie is highly treat-motivated, and it’s paying off in a big way. With snacks on board, he’s been doing great walking near people and dogs and has been friendly when meeting strangers. Public outings have become much calmer when treats are involved. He’s currently working with trainers at Tayls in Trails in Watertown, MA, and showing real progress. Snacks = success. The fine print (aka, Charlie’s boundaries): ·       🐶 Other dogs? Hard no. ·       🐱 Cats? Also no. ·       👶 Kids? Not a match — we’re looking for an adult-only home. Charlie wants to be your one-and-only. He’s not here for a group project; he’s here for a solo starring role. He will make his opinions known around other animals, so a pet-free home is essential. The good news? ·       💩 House trained ✔️ ·       🛏️ Crate trained ✔️ ·       ❤️ Loyal, affectionate, hilarious ✔️ Charlie has a big personality and an even bigger heart. With structure, continued training, patience, and a steady supply of treats, he’s going to be someone’s absolute soulmate dog — the kind who sleeps under the covers, follows you everywhere, and loves you like it’s his full-time job. Adopt Charlie — because beneath the spice is a gooey, devoted marshmallow who just wants to snuggle his way into your life (and your bed). 🐾💛 If you are interested in finding out more about Charlie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Charlie is being fostered in Dorchester, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Shoshanna - An 11-year-old Pug/Beagle mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. This sweet senior lady is looking for her forever home where she can relax, feel safe, and be adored for the wonderful companion she is. Shoshanna does well with the dogs she's met and mostly likes to do her own thing. She's independent in the calm, easygoing way that senior dogs often are, but she still enjoys being near her people and soaking up affection. Her favorite things are likely a cozy spot to nap, quiet companionship, and simply being part of a loving home. She may be in her golden years, but Shoshanna still has so much love left to give. She's kind, gentle, and ready to find the people who will cherish her through her senior chapter. If you're looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a sweet personality, Shoshanna could be the perfect match. If you'd like to meet Shoshanna and all of her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Story
Meet our retired Texas gentleman: a 10-year-old black pug with a legendary snore, expert cuddling skills, and the firm belief that life should revolve around breakfast, dinner, and being loved. 🤠🐾 This sweet senior boy is looking for a calm, affectionate home where he can spend his golden years snuggling on the couch, following you from room to room, and reminding you when it’s mealtime. His favorite parts of the day are breakfast and dinner, and he takes both very seriously. He has skin allergies that need occasional attention, and if bath time gets delayed too long… he can get a little stinky. Thankfully, he LOVES his weekly baths and treats them like spa day. He’s incredibly affectionate and happiest curled up next to his person. We are sadly rehoming him because our 2-year-old is very allergic, and we want him to have the attention and comfort he deserves. Sweet, loyal, funny, and full of love, this little Texan is ready for his next couch.

Meet CAPPUCCINO!Cappuccino is a lovable 9-year-old Chug (Chihuahua/Pug mix) with a heart full of affection. This sweet little guy absolutely adores people and is happiest curled up in your lap soaking up attention and cuddles. He has a friendly, easygoing personality and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend.Cappuccino has done well with other dogs in the past, though he has never lived with one full-time. He previously lived with two cats and got along great with them. He also walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls, but he’s definitely more of a couch cuddle buddy than an adventurous hiking partner! If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion to share your days with, Cappuccino could be your perfect match!
