Peanut is looking for a family who will include him in the adventures, spoil him with love, and give him the forever home he deserves. ❤️ At only 20 pounds, Peanut is basically the perfect size for everything—walks, adventures, snuggles, and, of course, taking over the couch. Small dog. Big heart. Even bigger potential for stealing your spot in bed. Please share Peanut and help us find the wonderful family he’s been waiting for! We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. Rescued from the streets of Detroit after being abandoned by her previous owners, Freya has emerged as an incredibly happy, affectionate girl whose tail never stops wagging. She is the ultimate human companion who thrives on affection and loves to cuddle. Freya's energy is nicely balanced; she gets excited easily for fun adventures but will instantly chill out and lay down when you are ready to relax. In the home, Freya has excellent manners. She is fully potty-trained, completely non-destructive, and crate-trained. While she may show a bit of initial anxiety when first crated, she quickly settles and handles being left alone well. Grooming her is an absolute breeze, as she easily allows baths, nail trims, and teeth brushing right at home. Meet Midge Midge's story didn't start with love. She spent her days chained outside in Detroit — no shade, no warmth, no comfort of her own. Midge is safe now, and she'll never live that life again. Since coming into rescue, this little squatty girl has powered through heartworm treatment like an absolute champ — never losing that wiggly tail or that happy spirit, even through every appointment and hurdle. At 41 pounds, Midge is the perfect pocket-sized pittie, around 2–3 years old and learning every day what it means to be loved. She's not a "perfect" dog — she's a real one. She can couch-potato with the best of them, then turn into a zoomie tornado without warning. She's got opinions and isn't afraid to share them. And she's basically a professional squeaker assassin. Midge loves other dogs, thrives on playtime, and does best with an active family who'll include her in the fun.
