Story
Hi!  My name is Molly and I am looking for a forever home.  I was surrendered to a small rescue after my previous owners didn't want to keep me in the house, didn't have a fenced yard for me to stay safe in and lived near a busy street.  Fortunately, a neighbor saw how they treated me and was able to talk them in to giving me to the rescue.  A volunteer with that rescue then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  I appear to be a small pug mix and the vet thinks I'm around 10mos to a year old and I only weigh a little under 11lbs and shouldn't get too much bigger.  I am shy when I first meet new people but my foster parents have been really nice to me and I have learned I can trust them; now I love getting attention and take treats gently from them.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats.  I have shared my crate with my friend Maggie who is just a little bigger than me without any issues and we love to wrestle and play; we also eat side by side without a problem as we both love our food and finish about the same time.  I've done well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding but would really prefer to be out with you.  I'm still learning the leash-thing but with some time and practice I should get it down, especially since it means I get to be with my person.  If you would like to learn more about me or meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! We are looking for a “forever foster” home for our sweet Mimi. Forever fosters bring a dog into their home and love them as their own, while we pay all their expenses. Mimi was abandoned in a vacant apartment so we removed her from the shelter where she would certainly be overlooked. At age 15 she can see and hear perfectly but has some difficulty going up and down steps. We keep her in a diaper at night in case she has an accident, but she is fine through the day. She also takes medication for the cough she gets because of her reverse sneeze. Mimi is super happy to be with you, does very well with everyone and loves the company of other dogs. She’d love to sleep on your bed but is just as content in her own space with her own comfy bed. OCEAN BREEZE is an 8 month old MinPin/Pug mix (birthday January 2026) who has had a rough start in life. She was rescued by a good Samaritan when someone was giving her away in a parking lot and then her savior had a stroke. Breeze is a little shy at first meeting but quickly warms up. She would love another young active dog to play with. Seeking a family who can get her out and about to experience new things and help her confidence grow! At 23 pounds, she’s a great travel size! This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn.
