All fees listed include transport fees.** Kara is a 9-month-old (born 08/01/25) Terrier and Pug mix weighing about 9 pounds, and she’s a tiny bundle of sweetness, playfulness, and puppy charm. With her silly personality and bright, happy energy, she has a way of making every day a little more fun. She absolutely loves snuggles and being close to her people, whether that’s curling up for some quiet cuddle time or bouncing around for a play session. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Lily was surrendered to NorthStar when her owner became ill and could no longer care for her dogs. Although she is almost 9 years old, Lily is in good health, energetic and house-trained. She is a good listener who loves long walks and car rides. She is currently up to date on her shots, but is due for several vaccines in May - we'll ensure she receives those. Lily has lived with another dog (Lucy Nason, also available for adoption) and is currently in temporary foster with a Lab and Golden Retriever. On walks she may bark at other dogs out of curiosity - she's not aggressive, just loud. Lily is crate trained and enjoys spending time in her individual crate even when given free roam of the house. Overall, she is a very sweet senior girl just looking for a new place to hang her leash! Look at this little face. Lily is as sweet as she is cute. She's about 2 years old and found her world turned upside down when her owner passed away, leaving behind 7 dogs. Family and friends took in 4 of the 7, and Lily and 2 others came into our rescue. Understandably confused, it took a few days for Lily to warm up. She bonds easily, is house trained, and a joy to be around. She can be a little mouthy when she gets excited and as such we will only consider homes with older children. Lily is getting spayed on 4/9. She'll be brought current on core vaccines and microchipped. We would love to find a home for Lily where someone is home more often. A fenced yard is required.
