Meet Rio! The cutest  Chug around. Yes, you heard me correctly, he is a Pug-Chihuahua mix and he's 7 years old. Rio has the spicy Chi in him and the pug heart. So naturally, Rio barks his head off with rage until you submit your love. Who wouldn't want to be bossed around by an adorable bug eyed monster who has no manners. ‍ Rio is sweet and spice all in one and often at the same time. You really have to rely on your connection with him or he will leave you baffled as to what his intentions are. Fact is Rio, will make someone a very happy pawrent! He is learning more and more everyday that life doesn't suck and not to take things so seriously. Someone that could continue to show him all that he's missed out on would be great! Rio has spent several years spending most of his time locked in a crate. He was being protected from a Husky that was trying to kill him. ‍ We have to unravel all that and make up for it so his sassy little tude is there for a reason. ✨Meet Nacho!✨ Nacho pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program. Nacho was originally brought into a shelter in Philadelphia after being surrendered by his previous family due to his declining health. This shelter is the only open intake shelter for the entire city, and is extremely underfunded and overcrowded, they provide low cost veterinary resources to try to keep animals in their homes and out of the shelter system. Nacho tested positive for Parvo was time stamped for euthanasia. We gladly stepped up, and gave Nacho all the medical care he desperately needed. Along with a lot of love and supportive care Nacho now has fully recovered and is ready for a home of his own! Nacho is a 9 month old Pug/Chihuahua (Chug) mixed breed who is full of happiness for his second chance at life! Nacho is a young and happy puppy that will require a family up to the task of providing him the ample physical and mental exercise and training that all dogs require. Everyone, welcome Doug to PK! Doug was transferred here from another rescue and is ready to settle down with a new family, for good. He’s a 4–5-year-old Pit Bull Terrier and Bulldog mix, weighing in at 46 lbs. He packs a lot of muscle into a compact frame! Doug is attentive and curious, always trying to figure out his surroundings. He has such an expressive face! Doug has a few personality quirks, but nothing insurmountable. He really doesn’t like company around his food bowl and will guard it. However, he’s fine playing with toys, receiving treats, or even being hand-fed food. He also doesn’t play nicely with kitties, so he’ll need a kitty-free residence. He is, however, open to meeting other dogs if you have them in your home.
