Story
WHAT is this dog???Affectionate. Playful. Snuggly. Silly. Happily curious. All Yes... but WHAT IS HE???Meet Cheeto: 30 pounds of excellent manners and unanswered questions. He showed up as a stray in great shape. Clearly cared for. Clearly loved at some point. Housetrained. Polite. And somehow… never reclaimed.Which is baffling. So now he's ours, ready to be yours! But what is Cheeto???We’re crowdsourcing the mystery. Our best guess is a pug mix, based on his temperament and general vibe. Possibly pug and teddy bear. Possibly pug and tiny monkey. Possibly pug and weighted blanket that believes personal space is a myth.Cheeto doesn’t come with a backstory, but he does come with a very solid personality and an impressive cuddle résumé.Come meet him. Tell us what you think he is. Fall a little in love while you’re at it.Cheeto would love to impress and baffle you at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9am to noon, daily, including weekends & holidays.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Simba is an all-black, 6-month-old happy, playful chunky confident 21 lb boy who just landed from Puerto Rico and is already winning hearts.  He should grow to about 30-35 lbs full grown.   He’s very social, loves other dogs, and does great with cats. Simba would do well in a home with children and enjoys being part of the action. He’s currently learning house manners and potty training in his foster home and is making great progress.  Foster Update: Simba has been in foster care for the past three weeks and is truly nothing short of amazing. He’s a sweet, playful puppy who enjoys chewing on a Nylabone or Kong in his crate, absolutely loves squeaky toys, and is quickly learning how to fetch  If you’re looking for a loyal little side-kick with a big personality, Simba may be your perfect match.  Complete an application to meet him today! Story
Meet Gus! This handsome little guys wants nothing more than the chance to find his forever home. While Gus has been very friendly & loving(and he has some history of getting along with dogs), we do ask that any introductions with new people, places, or animals be done slowly! Additionally, Gus was known to be a runner/flight risk in his previous home, so any potential adopter should be prepared to take preventative measures(being mindful when opening doors, making sure he has a well fitted collar/harness, etc.). Lastly, Gus is on a weight loss journey, so any adopter should be ready to help him continue with a diet, help him stay active, etc.! If you have any questions about this handsome man or would like to visit, please ask our kennel team & they will be happy to assist!
