Story
Whenever a sweet and engaging rescue dog gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that many of the dogs that are relinquished to a high-kill shelter or found as strays are very loving with excellent temperaments. They ultimately, with patience and love, make sweet and bonded family companions. Sprinkles is one of these dogs that ended up in a scary shelter through no fault of her own. Sprinkles, upon her arrival at the shelter was described by personnel as very sweet, and social even in the shelter environment. Shortly after, Sprinkles was reported as becoming more comfortable, engaging and even silly with her rescuer. Sprinkles is a 1 year old, 21 lb Pug / Beagle mix. We can't swear to the accuracy of this breed (although we can definitely see it!)...what we can speak to is her sweetness and her value as a wonderful companion for a dog-loving Colorado family. Sprinkles, is very puppyish in her enthusiasm for all people that are kind to her. She has a love of life and a positive attitude that touches the heart. After all, his very deserving girl has never had a loving or nurturing family to call her own. She has been a victim of circumstance in her life. Farfel's Rescue is committed to changing this trajectory for this awesome dog that has so much to offer a committed family. From Sprinkles foster: "Sprinkles is so much cuter than her photos!!! We will try to send you some better ones. She is SO sweet and friendly and social and just a total love bug! We are having so much fun with her. Also so far she has not had any accidents inside!" Farfel's Rescue has found over time and thousands of rescue dogs that the families that attend virtual or in-person training class with one of our approved positive reinforcement / force free trainers keep their dogs for life, except in very unusual circumstances. Dogs that do not get proper training and socialization have a much higher risk of developing behavioral problems. There is a bonding that occurs between a dog and their family through the training process that can't be duplicated. It also teaches behaviors that enable a pup to go out into the world with excellent manners that create a respectful relationship between dogs and their humans. It is for all these reasons that Farfel's is unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't choose to participate in this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Sprinkles is such a great age and size. At 1 year old, she's a blank slate that is young enough to embrace new behavioral concepts in her life with many, many healthy and active years ahead. Sprinkles is also the perfect smaller size to accompany her family on fun adventures everywhere that a well-behaved smaller dog is welcome. Sprinkles l will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition. Current research is clear that the best diet for a dog is a natural, real food diet. This natural nutrition will cut down on vet visits as well as add years to a dog's life. Farfel's has had experience with Chi Diet (chidog.com). It saved the life of our dog and we wholeheartedly recommend it for yours. Sprinkles will be up to date on her vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to attain a future where dogs are never euthanized due to overpopulation in the canine population. Sprinkles can't wait to meet her new forever family! If interested in this very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Sprinkles please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue
