What we know: Mom and 2 puppies transferred from Aurora Animal Shelter in CO. Came from a local hoarding case, shelter sought placement for the dogs seized who were not yet ready for adoption to save kennel space. From the foster: I’m a sweet girl, around 5 years old, and I recently raised two puppies. I came from a very overwhelming environment where I lived alongside 55 dogs. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was absolutely terrified. Everything was unfamiliar, and I wasn’t sure if people were safe. Loud noises and quick movements can make me nervous but I’m learning that I’m safe, and every day I get a little braver. Despite how frightened I was in the beginning, I have never shown any aggression. I may be scared, but my heart is gentle. I’m currently living with both a big dog and a little dog, and I do wonderfully with them. I also live with kids and really enjoy the attention they give me. I’m still figuring out that their loud voices and quick movements aren’t something to fear. I’m starting to enjoy the little things, like sniffing around outside, exploring the sights and sounds of my foster home, and discovering all the new things this big world has to offer. Every day brings something new to learn, and with each little adventure, I’m growing a bit braver. I’ve spent a lot of my life simply trying to get by. Now I’m learning what it feels like to be someone’s beloved dog. I’m discovering that life can be soft and gentle, that people can be kind, and that I don’t have to be afraid all the time. I dream of having a cozy bed to curl up in, a loving human to lean on, and a safe home where I can finally let my guard down. I don’t need perfection. Whether I’m bouncing around with a toy or investigating something new, I bring a little extra fun wherever I go. I’m still very young, so I’m still working on house training and crate training. What we know: 10 year old male transferred from Espanola Humane in New Mexico, eyes were removed prior to transport due to ulcerations and bleeding of the eyes. Dog also has a noticeable heart murmur as well as spine issues constant with age. Neutered and UTD on vaccines prior to intake.
