Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like many rescue dogs, Suga may need time to adjust to a new home, routine, and environment. Dogs rescued from neglectful situations often require patience as they learn that they are finally safe and loved. Although Suga has made wonderful progress since entering rescue, adopters should understand that trust and confidence continue to grow with consistency, kindness, and positive experiences. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a French Bulldog is a lifelong commitment that includes routine veterinary care, companionship, exercise, and breed-specific attention. Suga will need: Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Moderate daily exercise while avoiding overheating Plenty of companionship and mental enrichment A safe, stable indoor living environment As a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed, French Bulldogs can be sensitive to heat and strenuous exercise. Suga should always have access to fresh water, shade, air conditioning during hot weather, and should avoid vigorous activity in high temperatures. Suga is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
