Meet Rubi Female DOB: February 5, 2026 Weight: 20 pounds current Breed: Chi / Terrier Mix Expected Size: Medium when fully grown Spayed (Fixed): Vaccines: In Progress Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Rubi is a sweet, affectionate puppy with a loving personality and playful spirit. She enjoys spending time with her people, exploring her surroundings, and soaking up all the attention and affection she can get. Like many puppies, she is curious about the world and excited to learn new things every day. Rubi has intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and a strong desire to bond with her family. Black Mouth Cur mixes are often known for their devotion and eagerness to please, while Terriers bring curiosity, confidence, and playful energy. Rubi is expected to mature into a small adult dog. Rubi would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to her physical and emotional well-being Puppies are adorable, but they are also a major responsibility that requires patience, training, supervision, and long-term commitment. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require guidance and supervision to learn how to become confident, well-mannered adult dogs. Puppies are not automatically trained simply because they are young. While we work hard to provide safety, care, and basic socialization, adopters should expect to continue all training and development after adoption. Adopting a puppy means being prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing phases Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Jumping and playful puppy behavior Continued socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise and enrichment Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Financial commitment throughout the dog's lifetime Rubi will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Mental stimulation and enrichment Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, puppies like Rubi grow into wonderful lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Rubi will need: Ongoing puppy training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and growth monitoring Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship A safe, stable, indoor living environment Puppies require regular veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, wellness exams, and spay surgery when age-appropriate. Because Rubi is still young and growing, adopters should be prepared for the normal puppy stages that include chewing, teething, accidents, testing boundaries, and continued social development. Rubi is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
Jack is a 3-4 year old Pug weighing about 16lbs.  Jack came from Mexico where he was brought to a shelter in pretty bad condition.  His eye was damaged and needed to be removed immediately.  We don't know what happened to his eye, but he has since fully recovered and is happy, healthy little guy!   Jack gets along well with all people and is an amazing little guy.  He is very snuggly and loves to follow his foster Momma around the house.  He gets along with other dogs but since he is a sassy little Pug a proper introduction is usually necessary.  He does well at the dog park and LOVES chasing his tennis balls and playing fetch. He is great on walks and a cute little snorty, happy Pug. If you are interested in adopting Jack, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2668187##

Story
Tesha is about 9-12MO and weighs about 8lbs.  Tesha's story starting out as a hearting one, but we are hoping that with our help finding her a wonderful forever family she will never feel anything again but love, happiness, and safety.  Tesha was seen being thrown out of the window of a moving car when she was only 2 months old.  A good samaritan who saw it happen grabbed her as quickly as possible from the highway and rushed her to the emergency vet.  She spent over a month at the vet getting treated for injuries and brain swelling.  She was eventually cleared to travel to CO where she has been in foster care for a few months now.  We wanted to make sure she continued to get better and become a happy girl.  Because of her abuse, Tesha will always be a little unique with some brain ticks and quirks, but she is a happy, healthy little girl.  Here is what her foster has to say about her: "We have had her since November and there has not been a day, since she finally began trusting us, that she does not make us laugh. She takes time to warm up, to trust you, but once she does, she is a bright light. She loves to snuggle, chase a ball and bring it back, she loves to play with all our dogs and does not take no for an answer. She is a great eater, good with cats and dogs, and we are working on potty training. She is terrified of riding in cars and why wouldn’t she be since she was thrown out the window of one. If you snuggle her closely or put her in a carrier where she is safe, she is ok. She is quirky and funny and occasionally demanding of your attention, but in the cutest of ways. She would do best in a family with another dog or dogs who like to play.  She loves being loved on and really needs a family who can give her as much love as she has to give them...which is a lot, and unconditional.  If you are interested in giving this sweet girl her happily ever after, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2668218##
