If you think Bulldogs come in two speeds, OFF and SLOW, Thelma would like a word.
At just 27 pounds, this brindle-and-white little bulldog is compact enough to fit almost anywhere... and energetic enough to somehow be everywhere at once. Since having surgery to restore her vision, she's discovered that the world is one giant amusement park, and she's determined to experience every square inch of it.
Need help unloading the dishwasher? Thelma is already supervising.
Pulling weeds? She has probably stolen one.
Opening the front door? Excellent! She was hoping to personally greet whatever is on the other side.
She is curious, hilarious, affectionate, and just the right amount of chaos.
When her famous bulldog zoomies kick in, she transforms into what can only be described as a potato with afterburners. She loves squeaky toys, puzzle games, snuffle mats, and anything that keeps her busy. She also believes Amazon boxes deserve a second life... preferably under her supervision.
When the fun is over, Thelma becomes an Olympic-level cuddler. She loves sleeping pressed against her people and fully expects you to pay the mandatory Bully Butt Tax by allowing her to snuggle as close as physically possible.
Thelma gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes and especially enjoys having canine friends to wrestle, play, and nap with. She's doing well with potty training, uses a dog door, is highly food motivated, and continues learning her puppy manners through positive reinforcement.
Thelma and her sister were rescued after being abandoned in an Oklahoma field. Before arriving in rescue, she likely spent much of her young life confined and was suffering from severe bilateral cherry eye that limited her vision. Today, after surgery and lots of love, she's making up for lost time by embracing every adventure life has to offer.
If you're looking for a dog who's equal parts comedian, cuddle bug, adventure buddy, and tiny household supervisor, Thelma may just be your perfect match.
