Story
Looking for a handsome, blue-eyed hunk that loves to cuddle and only hits upper body day?  Boy do we have the perfect man for you!   Hi all! I’m Walter, but my foster mom calls me Winston, Winnie, and Handsome:)  I’m a gorgeous, ~2 year old frenchie that has a huge heart and lots of love to give.  I’m a lover, and I currently live with my foster mom’s cat, but I’m kind of nosey and would prefer not having to share attention in my forever home.  I would love a forever human that works from home or spends a lot of time at home.  I am the perfect velcro dog and love to sit on my human’s lap or spend my afternoons snoozing in the sunshine.  I was first brought into Denver Animal Shelter this summer a little broken and bruised.  I had some pelvic fractures and needed hip surgery.  I’ve recovered from surgery just swell, and while I have a little bit of a limp (and some skinny hind legs), I can get around and jump up on the couch just fine!   When meeting new people, I need people to respect my personal space.  New people who reach down at me make me feel intimidated and scared.  I can get along with older kiddos, or even young ones who can go slow!  Need a hiking buddy or brewery dog?  That will not be me.  The most exercise I like is chasing after squirrels or going on a short walk around the block.  I have a few doggy friends, however, I’m very dog selective (get along better with females) but I do NOT like meeting new dogs while on a leash or from behind a fence.  My dream forever home has a privacy fence so I’m not tempted to tell the neighborhood how I feel about the neighbor’s dogs. I have my quirks and can be a little demanding when I don’t think we’ve had enough cuddle time on the couch.  I am house trained and crate trained, but don’t mind sharing a bed (as long as you don’t mind my snoring)!  I’ll need my forever human to be experienced with stubborn frenchies like me, but also know that with patience and time (~10 minutes) I can warm up and we can be bffs! Put in an application at eapl.com My adoption fee is $375 January 15, 2026, 8:43 am

Story
*Agnes and Edith are a bonded pair* Meet Agnes!  At just 6 pounds, Agnes may be tiny—but her heart is full of potential. This petite Chihuahua is a sweet soul who blossoms with time, patience, and love. Once she feels safe, Agnes reveals her snuggly, playful side and will happily curl up beside you or bounce around with joy. Agnes is currently working on her potty training and socialization, and she’s making steady progress with the help of her foster family. She’s already kennel trained and finds comfort in having a cozy space to call her own. She thrives when she’s near her people and would do best in a calm, adult-only home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. Agnes has a soft spot for her canine companion, Edith, but also does well with the other dogs in the home. What she needs most is someone who understands that trust takes time—and is willing to continue her training journey with kindness and consistency. If you’re looking for loyal little shadows who just needs a chance to shine, Agnes and Edith might be your perfect match. If you're interested in meeting them please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in them!) Their adoption fee is $400 and both girls are spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations ##2555725##

Story
*Edith and Agnes are a bonded pair* Meet Edith!   Edith is a delicate blend of Chihuahua and Chinese Crested charm, with a quiet spirit and a heart that’s learning to trust. She’s more independent than her buddy Agnes, but don’t let that fool you—Edith has a soft spot for snuggles once she feels safe. This shy girl is still working on her socialization, and she’s making gentle progress every day. She’s kennel trained and finds comfort in routine, especially when paired with her canine companion Agnes. Edith absolutely loves going for walks—it’s her favorite way to explore the world and build confidence at her own pace.  A quieter household without children would be ideal, giving them the space and stability they needs to continue blossoming. If you’re someone who understands that trust takes time and are ready to offer Edith and Agnes the gentle guidance they deserves, they'll reward you with quiet loyalty and tender moments that feel truly special.
