Story
“BUDDY” is such a cute, 7-year-old (02/17/2019), chunky 21 pound, creamy white, neutered Miniature Poodle who measures 14” from the floor to his shoulder.
After Buddy’s first senior owner had passed away, he went to live with another senior lady who recently passed away. Sadly, her family brought Buddy to us as they could not keep him due to their HOA rules.
Buddy has always been deeply loved and well cared for by his previous owners. While he has always been an only dog, he has been just fine with all our Poodles by ignoring them as he is not looking to be their special friend. He likes people better.
When he first came to us, we could clearly see he was confused and very sad. He missed his previous owners and his life as an only dog. He has shown to be independent at times, but when he is ready, he just LOVES to receive attention, hugs and kisses.
Now he is adjusted to us as his eyes are watching us and will jump onto the sofa to sit next to us. He also loves our bed which he will jump onto as he had been sleeping with his previous owners and is doing just fine sleeping with us.
Buddy is super happy when we grab his leash and will quickly come for a walk or a car ride or a ride in a boat.
This pretty boy is perfect gentleman (house trained). While we do kennel our Poodles when we are gone and at night, Buddy is allowed to freely run our home during these times. He is a very smart boy, has NOT had any accidents and greatly enjoys going outside into our fenced yard.
Buddy likes men as well as women. He likes our grandchildren when they come to visit and they take him for a walk.
Yes, this is a Poodle I would keep as he has so much love to offer. But he really needs a home where he is an only dog.
*A securely fenced yard would be nice, but Buddy is good on a leash.
*Preference will be given to a family with Poodle experience.
BUT PLEASE:
*NO large dogs as he completely avoids them.
*NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare him and me).
*NO young children.
*Like most rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota.
At his Vet appointment, his teeth cleaned up nicely and has been Veterinary checked healthy. He is up to date on all his vaccinations, worming, has been Home Again microchipped and registered. His heartworm / Lymes / Ehrlich / Anaplasmosis (4DX) test was negative and has been placed on a preventative.
As with all the other cute Poodles we have adopted, Buddy’s adoption fee is 1 million trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family his adoption fee is $550.00 which includes $47.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax and helps pay for some of her Veterinary expenses.
Also included is his leash, collar, harness, dog sweaters, a bag of quality dog food, a dog food container, dog dishes, treats, a cute toy box, a few toys, a soft dog bed with a blanket and lots of good information to help your Poodle’s adoption move forward on the right paw!
This is a very nice, smart and precious Poodle boy who wants and truly deserves his own loving “forevermore” home. If given a little bit of time (a few days) to adjust to your home, he will fill your empty arms with lots of love and happiness!
