Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Meet Lucky, a sweet and spunky ~3 year old neutered male rat terrier mix/Jack Russell terrier mix, weighing about 15lbs. Lucky is a friendly, loving boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids. He likes cats but he does chase them, so a cat free home (or one with dog savvy cats) would probably be best for him. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own, as he loves to run and get his zoomies out! From Lucky: "My name is Lucky, my foster mom calls me Loki and I answer to both. I am a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix and I have energy to spare so if you have a fenced in yard I am the pup for you. I am very loving, affectionate and a happy boy.
