Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. March 10, 2026, 2:53 pm

Story
Meet Lady Enchilada & Nacho – the ultimate dynamic duo! These two are the very definition of a bonded pair. Whether they’re cuddling, playing, or searching for each other after wandering in different directions, it’s clear they’re inseparable. They may not be littermates, but they’ve spent their lives side by side—and they belong together. Lady Enchilada (a spunky Chiweenie) and Nacho (a sweet Chihuahua-Rat Terrier mix) are around 6–8 years old and weigh about 9-10 lbs each. 💛 Nacho (black and white) is a gentle lap dog who loves being held. He also enjoys wrestling with his small dog friends, especially his “sister” Lady. 🧡 Lady is more adventurous and playful. She enjoys interacting with other dogs, chasing toys, and curling up next to her favorite human for belly rubs. They adore each other, enjoy toys, and are both affectionate and playful. While they are puppy pad trained, they’re still learning outdoor potty habits. They spent most of their lives confined in a tiny cage, arriving with urine burns and coat discoloration. They’re making great progress, but they’ll need a patient home to continue building their confidence and routine.

Story
HANDSOME, SWEET & FUN:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. Hi, I’m Lexington! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am so glad to be here. I was adopted, but it turned out that living with cats just wasn’t the right fit for me. So, I’m back with Mostly Mutts in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my perfect match - a loving, kitty-free family to call my own! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’m selective about my dog friends, and my initial reaction when I see other dogs isn’t always my best. However, there’s another family dog that comes to stay with me every few months, and we coexist very well together. My foster will be happy to talk with you about the introduction that seems to work best for me. Larger dogs can be intimidating to me, so I wouldn’t want to live with one. If you have a dog that sounds like it might be a good match, let’s meet and see how we do. That said, I think I’d be perfectly happy being your one-and-only pet, too! / No cats please as I have a strong prey drive. / I enjoy spending time with the sweet 11-year-old granddaughter who visits my foster home. So, if you have children around that age or older, let’s meet! I’m not comfortable with younger children though and did nip a 7-year-old during a resource-guarding incident in my former home.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m an affectionate, lovable, happy-natured  boy who’s a total cuddler. I have a great balance of playful and chill, with a fun, silly personality that keeps things entertaining.  I haven’t been destructive with furniture or anything at all in my foster home because I know what’s mine and what isn’t.  I absolutely love people and attention - I’ll happily jump up to be close to you and will even try to sit right in your lap if you let me.  I’m a very sweet, lovable dog who truly enjoys being with my humans – I’m such a good boy! / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  In my foster home, I know the ‘sit’ command and understand what ‘no’ means. When it’s mealtime, I’ll come quickly when I hear the words ‘dog food,’ and if someone mentions a ‘treat,’ you can bet I’ll come running! I also understand ‘go for a walk?’ and love being told I’m a ‘good boy’ - because who doesn’t want to be a good boy? My leash manners are pretty good, though I can get a little worked up when I see other dogs, so my foster simply gives me some extra space by crossing the street. / When my foster leaves for a little while, I do cry and bark a bit, but it stops after a while because when she returns, the home is quiet.  All the same, best no apartment/condo type home as we want the neighbors to love me like they do in my current foster home. At bedtime, I enjoy sleeping in my foster’s bed or on a dog bed next to it. / I’ve had a few accidents in the house. The problem is that there are so many exciting things in the yard - chipmunks, squirrels, and lizards - and I feel it’s my responsibility to keep them out of our yard! Sometimes I get so distracted by my backyard patrol duties that I forget to take care of my business. To help me stay focused, my foster takes me outside on a leash, which makes it easier for me to remember why I’m out there in the first place.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I have lots of fun favorites!  I love blankets and soft toys - I’ll even make little nests out of them.  Tennis balls are a big hit, and I have a great time playing tug-of-war or chasing a ball.  I also love squeaky toys.  I’m a big fan of tasty treats like chicken, cheese, yak cheese bones, bully sticks and even broccoli.  I also really enjoy soaking up the sunshine in a cozy spot.  More than anything, I love attention - snuggling, being a lap dog, and going for walks where I can greet neighbors and I enjoy car rides, too! / I don’t like being left alone for long and can feel anxious when I am, so I’d do best in a home where someone is around a good bit to hang out with.  Like all dogs, I wouldn’t be happy without plenty of love, attention, exercise, and training.          • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family that will treasure me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 24, 2026, 6:03 am

Story
This little lady with the adorable little terrier face is hoping to find her fur ever home very soon.   she came to us from a rural animal control facility where she had been picked up as a stray so we dont know much about her.  We know that she is a little shy but very sweet.   ##2817704##
