Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. November 1, 2024, 6:01 pm

Bonnie is house trained, crate trained, and full of heart. She can guard her favorite things like treats, toys, or even affection, so she’ll do best in a dog-savvy, structured home with older kids or adults. In return, she’ll be your most loyal, affectionate companion. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. Story
Meet Yogi Just like his famous cartoon namesake, Yogi is a curious, clever guy who’s always ready for his next adventure! Yogi is a 4-month-old white and brown rat terrier mix puppy with a big personality to match his slightly bigger-than-average size! Yogi's mom was a rattie mix, but dad is unknown, and as Yogi is already about 15 lbs., we expect him to grow to be a medium-sized dog. Yogi is a rambunctious, silly puppy who loves to explore, wrestle, and cuddle. He’s still learning all the important puppy skills and is not yet house-trained. He can be a little nervous around new people at first but once he knows you are safe, he quickly attaches himself to your side. Yogi's looking for an active, patient family who understands puppy energy and is excited to help him grow into a well-mannered companion—picnic baskets not included! Because he’s too young for shared potty areas and not yet comfortable walking on a leash, Yogi requires a home with a securely fenced yard. Yogi might not look like your typical New Rattitude pup, but he is sweet as can be and has that energetic, smart, and affectionate rattie personality that will keep you smiling. Consider adding him to your family this season! More photos of Yogi are available at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/yogi If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Meet Boo-Boo Sweet, playful, and always close by—Boo-Boo lives up to his cartoon bear namesake as the lovable sidekick with a big heart! Boo-Boo is a 4-month-old rat terrier mix puppy with an outgoing personality. He and his brother came from an accidental litter with an unknown father, and as Boo-Boo is already about 15 lbs., he is expected to grow to be a medium-sized dog. Boo-Boo is full of puppy enthusiasm and loves to play hard and cuddle harder once he’s tired out. Like any young pup, he’s not house-trained yet and is still learning what it means to be attached to a leash. Because he’s too young for shared potty areas, Boo-Boo must have a securely fenced yard where he can safely learn and play. Boo-Boo is hoping to find a human or family that will guide him with patience, consistency, and plenty of love—no ranger required. Boo-Boo might not look like your typical New Rattitude pup, but he is sweet as can be and has that energetic, smart, and affectionate rattie personality that will keep you smiling. Consider adding him to your family this season. Story
LOOKING FOR MY ANGEL:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi, my name’s Boomer!  I found myself lost or abandoned on the roadside, so a nice lady picked me up and worked with a vet and animal control to try and locate my family as well as do my legal stray hold.  My former owners did not come for me, so the nice lady helped me work my way to Mostly Mutts for which I’m thankful!  I’m in a nice foster home now while I wait for my special person or family to come and adopt me.    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There is a young dog in my foster home, and it took me a little while to like him, but now we spend a lot of time together, napping and playing together and just enjoying each other’s company, so if you have a dog, let’s meet and see if we can be good buddies, too. / I do well with the 3 cats in my foster home, as we all just leave each other alone. All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with another cat.  / I haven’t met kids yet and I don’t think I’d want to live with young children, but if you have teens who would let me do my own thing and be gentle with me, let’s meet.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as sweet and energetic, but also independent. I’m not a big cuddler, but I accept affection sitting next to my fosters on the couch and sometimes nuzzling up to them or climb into their lap to be petted.  This has increased in frequency as I’ve become more comfortable.  Initially, I would give ‘warning nips’, not breaking the skin, when I was uncomfortable with something or overstimulated, but I have stopped doing that now and am super grateful for the great care and kindness I get here. / My energy level is 5-7 so I’ve still got some pep in my step.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t know any specific commands, but perhaps you can teach me some – or perhaps we just don’t concern ourselves with it. / My crate manners are good in my foster home. / I came in originally incontinent, so I’m on a medication to help with that and now I do pretty well in my foster home when taken out frequently.  I’ll need a work-/stay-at-home family member who can keep me on a frequent schedule and will understand that there will be some accidents.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to be with the other dog in the home, and I like knowing that my fosters are home. When my fosters have been out for a little while, I sometimes greet them by nuzzling between their legs – so sweet.  I sure like pasta, but don’t give me too much, as people food isn’t the best for dogs. / I’m not a fan of thunder or fireworks so I seek out my family during those times, in fact those are the times I will cuddle with and want to be in their laps for safety. I’m also not a fan of towel drying after a bath.  I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get good care and love.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and I’ve had that now with 1 tooth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again.  I’m on a medication called Proin to help with my incontinence and I should stay on that.  I’m also on an inexpensive medication for anxiety and my foster can see that it has helped me settle and I’m doing much better, so I should stay on that.   I’m looking for a wonderful family where I can be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 17, 2025, 9:32 am

Story
A SWEET SENIOR COMPANION:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 28 lbs.  Hi, my name is Meeko!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been soaking up the love from the dedicated volunteers and in my foster home ever since!  I can’t remember how I ended up at animal control, but I’m thrilled to get a new chance to find a loving home and family – hopefully soon!  I’m currently in a foster home while I wait for my furever family to come for me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I want to be your only dog.  I don’t react to other dogs that I see on my walks.  / Cats unknown, however, I have shown a bit of prey drive with other small animals. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was nervous around them, so kids 15+ may be a good match for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a small guy with a big, loveable personality!  I’m described as a sweet, gentle, fun-natured and playful, spunky guy.  That’s right, I still have a spring in my step at 10 years old!  I enjoy cuddling/snuggling with my people and will climb right into your lap if you let me!  I’m not shy and can be vocal when I want your attention, so condo or apartment living would likely not be a good fit for me.  I was also not shy about showing my elation, with grateful sighs of appreciation during my shelter bath.  I am a smart, well-mannered, and friendly guy who is sure to bring joy to my new home! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already shown that I know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’.  I also walk nicely on a leash, utilize proper door etiquette, and accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I like to go on walks with my favorite stuffy toy in my mouth – so cute!  I am treat-motivated and love to please, so I bet you can teach me even more – who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been pretty good on the shelter schedule and are good in my foster home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to spend time with the volunteers and have fun play sessions with them, especially in the MM play yard, and it’s always great when they bring out the toys!  Playing fetch, chew toys, and tennis balls are my favorite things.  You are not likely to find a bigger treat fan than me, either.  Another thing I enjoy is peanut butter filled Kongs and I enjoy going for walks and surveying my world. In my foster home, I love to crawl into my bed and cover myself with a cozy blanket. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I came in with some broken teeth and needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and thankfully MM has done that for me.  I’ve got a skin tag on my back leg, but it doesn’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind it either.   I am looking for a wonderful furever home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 9, 2025, 8:46 am
