Story
Lilly was adopted from a shelter in 2019. They did not have much history on her and estimated that she was 3 yrs old which would make her 8 yrs old now. Lilly is high energy but also likes to snuggle in a comfortable spot. The most important thing about her is that she loves to be around people. She will be your constant companion following you around. She would do best in a home where someone would be with her or can take her with you. She is a single pet now but acclimates quickly to other dogs. She can be sensitive about her back legs being touched. Her teeth were not in great shape when she was adopted and aging has lead to some falling out. She has switched to a softer food and has had no problems with eating or her weight. Lilly is amazing at playing catch. She loves a space to run and catch the ball, she is very fast! She currently has access to a doggy door and is very good at communicating her needs. She understands basic commands like sit.

Meet Khloe Kardashian, a delightful medium-sized Rat Terrier mix ready to steal your heart. This sweet pup is well-mannered, loving, healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and fully housebroken. With a gentle disposition, Khloe is the perfect companion for anyone seeking unconditional love and loyalty. She gets along well with other gentle dogs but feels anxious around aggressive dogs and cats. Khloe is gentle around babies but prefers a quieter environment, feeling nervous around rowdy older children. Khloe enjoys a balance between relaxation and playtime. She loves a good game of tug o' war and running around the yard. Khloe thrives on social interaction and companionship, making her ideal for a family with time to engage with her. She responds well to commands like "sit," "down," and "come," showcasing her eagerness to please and learn. Story
Minnie is a little over 4 years old, 30lbs, and a Rat Terrier mix. She was found wandering on the road and was in foster until we adopted her about 9 months ago. This pup is absolutely adorable and I want her to have a loving, forever home, so here are the positives as well as the negatives: Positives: House trained, no accidents Not destructive of things in house, will chew her toys but never anything else Crate trained and likes her crate, though I often leave her out when Im not home Loves cuddles! Loves car rides! Loves all food and treats Medium energy, not a total couch potato but not bouncing off the walls either Has gone to daycare and boarding and done fine Negatives: Leash reactivity, have tried to work with her on this but it hasnt helped much. Barking at noises and when excited or wanting something, e.g. before being let out and while waiting to be fed Dominant personality, would be best as the only dog or with another smaller, submissive dog

Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. August 11, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Loyal, feisty 17-lb. Rocky is eager to please, a super snuggle buddy, and very motivated by treats and affection. This rat terrier/Chihuahua mix LOVES to run in the yard, chase his toys, and take long leashed walks. He is also smart and was a star student in his recent training class! He knows many verbal cues like sit, lie down, off, and place. When he needs recharging, he'll seek you out for some cuddling. He is reliably house-trained, rides well in the car, and has nice house manners. Anxiety about new people and larger dogs, however, is a challenge. They make Rocky bark and appear 'on edge.' A stranger ignoring these signals could get nipped. It has happened before. Rocky can be charming and affectionate and would truly like making new friends, but any potential friend must first slowly earn his trust. And while he generally gets along with dogs his size or smaller, his discomfort around bigger dogs could cause a scuffle if he's not monitored. On walks he ignores calm dogs passing by but lunges and barks at big, energetic ones. Because cats fascinate him and he's driven to chase them, kitties wouldn't make good housemates.  Now 5 years old, Rocky yearns for more space to run, fewer stressors, and lots of positive interaction with his trusted humans. His idea of heaven is a fenced yard and no other animals competing for resources or your attention. In a home with only adults who mostly stay home and have few visitors, Rocky will be happy, devoted, affectionate, obedient, and engaging. That's the real Rocky! And with your determination and love, he'll become your faithful companion for life. Rocky reveals more in his photos at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/rocky .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
LOOKING FOR LOVE:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 19 lbs.  Hi, I’m Nitro!  My foster says that I’m a sweet and loyal senior companion who has the cutest white eyebrows and brown Yoda ears, a wiggle butt with an adorable nub tail, and a happy, curious, and silly personality. I was adopted for about 3 years but came back to Mostly Mutts due to being protective of my mom and biting the grandson. I don’t really recall the circumstances of that, but I have not shown that behavior in my foster home and my foster will be happy to talk to you about how great I’m doing in their home.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have previously wanted to be an only dog as I showed resource guarding, but in my foster home I’m living with 2 larger dogs, and I’ve done just fine with them after a proper introduction.  I am mostly disinterested in them and don't want to play, but we coexist and go for walks together well, etc. So, if you have a dog that sounds like this, we could meet and see how we do together.  I also don’t react to them on walks, I’m quite indifferent to seeing them from afar.  / No cats please. / No kids please due to the bite in my former home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m very devoted, loving, and sweet to my people! I’ll do best in a home where there are not too many new people coming and going because it can take a little bit for me to warm up to new folks. But once I trust you, I will nudge you to keep petting me if you stop, climb into your lap to kiss your face, and follow you everywhere around the house. I am a huge lovebug!  When I lived at the MM shelter, I was very overwhelmed/stressed with the number of people I was exposed to each day, so I had a few favorite people and there were a few bites when others came up to us suddenly.  Again, I haven’t shown any of this in my foster home. / My energy level is around a 5 - 6, especially if there is food involved! I get SO excited for food and will perk up my ears, do my tippy-tappy dance, and wiggle my entire behind whenever I hear the slightest crinkle of any bag, so cute!                           • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am very food motivated which is great for training. I’m an expert at sitting, and I will offer a sit to you anytime I think you have treats. I will come when you shake a bag of treats. My foster mom is working with me on not jumping up and other commands like stay, etc. When I lived at the shelter, I knew more commands, but I’m happy with the ones I remember now and if you would like to work on more with me, we can do that. / I've not loved the crate in the past, but I do great in a secure pen or a small room when you need to leave me alone. / I have good potty manners in my foster home on a schedule. During the day I can hold it for up to 4 hours, and then at night I hold it all night for 8 hours!    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  My two favorite things are eating food and being petted by my people. I also love walks (keep them shorter in the summer heat please), bones, car rides, and fuzzy blankets! I enjoy looking out windows and rolling around in the grass outside too. I have a great nose and love to sniff and prance around in the yard or play with puzzle toys inside.  I am curious about sights, sounds, and smells on my walks in the neighborhood or at the park with my foster.  / I don’t like meeting people too quickly, so it is best to give me a little time to get to know you. Let me come to you instead of reaching for me. I will also bark at loud cars that pass by on walks, though I don’t bark much otherwise. I can't do stairs that well. I can manage a few, but if there is an entire flight of stairs, you'll have to pick me up which I have been fine with in my foster home. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention too. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have a collapsing trachea so I should take shorter walks, led with a harness not a collar.  I should also not be walked much when it’s hot outside - just to go to the potty or to a cool stream. I’ve been diagnosed with Cushing’s, so I’ve started medication for that and I’m on a liver supplement.  I’ll need annual testing for Cushing’s, and I had that in Feb. 2024. I take all my meds easily for my foster! If you’re looking for a devoted dog and have a nice quiet home environment, we could be a good match!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  September 7, 2024, 8:18 am

Story
A WONDERFUL FRIEND:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 27 lbs.  Hi there, I’m Vincent! I joined the Mostly Mutts family from animal control and I’m having a good time while I wait for my new family to find me!  I hear that I’m ready to do that now, so I look forward to living a good life with them!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and it took a little time to play with them as I think this is brand new to me, so I think more mellow dogs could be a fit for me. Let’s meet. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as friendly, fun, focused, calm, sweet and playful!  They also say that I was regal and reserved for my bath time and that they love me! Toys are the best and I’ll trade them for a treat when I become a bit too interested in them. / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands and I look forward to learning even more. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so once I settle into my new home, I think I’ll do well on a good schedule.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like being held, sitting on the bench with the MM volunteers, sitting in the grass, and playing with toys. In fact, I love toys so much that I can be a bit demanding and barky for toys and I can regrip them, so we should not play tug-o-war.  I also love having my ears scratched. / I can’t think of any dislikes but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I take an over-the-counter COSEQUIN tablet daily.  I’m a great dog looking for a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  September 7, 2024, 8:18 am
