Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. November 1, 2024, 6:01 pm

Story
Hello, my name is Linky West! I'm an 8 year old, 15 pound, rat terrier mix. I'm a spunky and sweet girl who is a bit shy and unsure at first, but I warm up eventually, especially if you have treats. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and ready to find my new home!   I had a loving person, but sadly they passed away. I was left alone in an abandoned house with only my fur friends and the occasional visitor to feed me. It's not surprising that I am loving life in my foster home where I have nonstop human companionship and furry friendships. I even started playing with toys and they are so fun!   I live with four other dogs right now. My favorite is the big, shy one (I love him!) and my least favorite is the loud, obnoxious one (I hate him!). I also lived with cats in my last home. My favorite companion is my human though. Once I get to know you, I will ADORE you. Where you go, I go. I will sit on the couch with you and sleep in bed with you.   I am not a fan of collars, harnesses, or leashes - they scare me! I hope to get more comfortable with them after more time and practice, but for now, I need a securely fenced yard in my new home. I can be a bit of an escape artist, so anyone who adopts me will have to be careful to keep me safe and secure. I don't mind going in a crate for meal time, but I don't like going in one for extended periods of time. That's okay because I don't make mischief when left out to roam freely while home alone. One other awesome thing about me is that I'm house trained!   I'm really enjoying life in my foster home, but I can't wait to find my forever home! Would you like to be my new best friend?   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
LOOKING FOR MY ANGEL:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi, my name’s Boomer!  I found myself lost or abandoned on the roadside, so a nice lady picked me up and worked with a vet and animal control to try and locate my family as well as do my legal stray hold.  My former owners did not come for me, so the nice lady helped me work my way to Mostly Mutts for which I’m thankful!  I’m in a nice foster home now while I wait for my special person or family to come and adopt me.    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There is a young dog in my foster home, and it took me a little while to like him, but now we spend a lot of time together, napping and playing together and just enjoying each other’s company, so if you have a dog, let’s meet and see if we can be good buddies, too. / I do well with the 3 cats in my foster home, as we all just leave each other alone. All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with another cat.  / I haven’t met kids yet and I don’t think I’d want to live with young children, but if you have teens who would let me do my own thing and be gentle with me, let’s meet.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as sweet and energetic, but also independent. I’m not a big cuddler, but I accept affection sitting next to my fosters on the couch and sometimes nuzzling up to them or climb into their lap to be petted.  This has increased in frequency as I’ve become more comfortable.  Initially, I would give ‘warning nips’, not breaking the skin, when I was uncomfortable with something or overstimulated, but I have stopped doing that now and am super grateful for the great care and kindness I get here. / My energy level is 5-7 so I’ve still got some pep in my step.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t know any specific commands, but perhaps you can teach me some – or perhaps we just don’t concern ourselves with it. / My crate manners are good in my foster home. / I came in originally incontinent, so I’m on a medication to help with that and now I do pretty well in my foster home when taken out frequently.  I’ll need a work-/stay-at-home family member who can keep me on a frequent schedule and will understand that there will be some accidents.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to be with the other dog in the home, and I like knowing that my fosters are home. When my fosters have been out for a little while, I sometimes greet them by nuzzling between their legs – so sweet.  I sure like pasta, but don’t give me too much, as people food isn’t the best for dogs. / I’m not a fan of thunder or fireworks so I seek out my family during those times, in fact those are the times I will cuddle with and want to be in their laps for safety. I’m also not a fan of towel drying after a bath.  I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get good care and love.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and I’ve had that now with 1 tooth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again.  I’m on a medication called Proin to help with my incontinence and I should stay on that.  I’m also on an inexpensive medication for anxiety and my foster can see that it has helped me settle and I’m doing much better, so I should stay on that.   I’m looking for a wonderful family where I can be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 13, 2025, 8:39 am
