They’re currently in a foster home with dogs, cats and children and have fit right in. They even love curling up in bed with their foster family at night! Zella and Zoey are the girls. They’re about 1 year old and weigh only around 11-15 pounds, so they appear to be full grown. Zeus is the little boy of the group. He’s approximately 10 months old and may still have a little growing to do. Their story is heartbreaking. We received a call about approximately 10 dogs that had apparently been dumped in the middle of nowhere. By the time help arrived, only these three remained. Sadly, the others had reportedly been hit by cars or attacked by animals. One of our team members immediately drove more than an hour to get Zella, Zoey and Zeus to safety and bring them into our rescue. Judging by how comfortable and affectionate they are with people; we believe they were pets at some point. We don’t know where they came from or how they ended up abandoned, but we do know they’ll never have to fend for themselves again. These three little survivors have been through enough. Now they deserve safe, loving homes of their own where they can spend the rest of their lives being loved and spoiled. Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a hoot. 😂 He loves car rides and does perfectly when traveling! As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience but he’s mastering it well! This very good boy came to us as an owner surrender because his owner experienced serious health issues, and he's relaxing in his foster home while he waits to be discovered by a second chance family. Petey is 12 years old, a rat terrier mix, and he's had the benefit of great care and socialization for his entire life. He's gentle, well mannered, great with other dogs, and he meets people well. Petey loves car rides, naps, treats, and getting affection, and he settles in nicely to new routines. He's a little hard of hearing, but otherwise very healthy for a dog his age! He's also neutered and entirely up-to-date with vaccinations and vet care. We're told that he's not a fan of cats and we're looking for a cat free home for him.
