Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a hoot. 😂 He loves car rides and does perfectly when traveling! As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience but he’s mastering it well! Skipper is very much loved in his foster home and they can’t wait for him to find his perfect family! 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Need new home for choco. Was my son's dog which he adopted in Hawaii. They had new baby and choco was skittish around baby, so I took him. Landlord not happy about that. He is very lovable, protective loves his walks. He will follow some commands . He will use puppy pads if I am gone long time, he has held going potty for up to 18 hours. Sleeps on my bed every night. He would probably do well with older, docile, calm housemate. He does not like car rides

Story
Give him a cozy bed and a toy, and he’ll be your best friend fureva--- Cam Cam is under 2 years old and about 30 lbs — such a great size.  He’s a little shy at first, but comes out of his shell pretty quickly. He’s dog friendly, loves toys, and is a total toy hoarder… seriously, if your other dog is missing a toy, Cam would like to plead the fifth. Cam has been waiting and waiting for his chance to come to Massachusetts. Transport after transport, his name comes up, and every time there’s nowhere for him to go. This sweet boy has been waiting in foster for months... Cam is a friendly, happy boy who enjoys being around people and does well with other dogs. He’d likely love having a canine companion in his forever home. Story
Best friend Buddy is the total package. He loves people and greets everyone, always eager for attention.   At 12, Buddy ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. We do not know his backstory or why such a sweet boy would land in a shelter. We may never know.     At Critter Cavalry, we adore seniors and believe they deserve every chance to find a loving home. You won’t regret considering Buddy—he loves everyone, whether human or animal. Buddy is everyone’s best friend.     Buddy is healthy for a senior. He has limited sight and hearing, but is otherwise in good shape. He navigates his foster home easily and enjoys exploring the fenced yard. He comes when called—just use a louder voice.   Buddy is ready to retire with a couple eager to add him to their family. He’d love a fenced yard to explore—size isn’t important—and an active retirement with short walks and car rides. He will be a wonderful addition to a family that matches his lifestyle.   If you want a new best friend, Buddy is perfect for you. To learn more about adopting him, contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or 615-943-7311. Approved application and adoption fee required.    June 23, 2026, 1:16 pm

Story
The One-Year-Old Jack Russell Mix Who Has More Energy Than Your Entire Family Combined Ralphie arrived on this earth with one singular mission: to do everything, at full speed, with maximum enthusiasm, ideally with you right there beside him. This one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix is the definition of all-in. Play fetch? All in. Cuddle on the couch? All in. Burrow under the blankets and press his entire body against yours like a small, warm, wiggling furnace? Absolutely, completely, non-negotiably all in. 🐾 Ralphie is your perfect shadow - Wherever you go, whatever you do, Ralphie would like to be involved. He's not needy. He's just dedicated to the concept of you. 🐾 Tennis balls. Squeaky toys. Fetch. Running. More running. Then a little more running. Ralphie could run circles around you all day and honestly probably will. He is a one-dog cardio program. 🐾 When the energy has finally been spent, Ralphie will find you, locate the nearest blanket, tunnel underneath it like a tiny heat-seeking missile, and cuddle up as close as physically possible. The transition from feral energy gremlin to world's sweetest snuggle bug is genuinely impressive. 🐾 He is house trained ✅ He sits ✅ He lays down ✅ He is currently workshopping his leash walking skills — a work in progress, but we have confidence in his trajectory. 🐾 He's looking for a one-dog household — he's not a fan of other dogs, and frankly, he doesn't see why he should have to share you with anyone. Ralphie is not the dog for someone who wants to sit still. He's the dog for the family that hikes, runs, plays, and then collapses together on the couch at the end of the day in a happy, exhausted heap. He'll keep up with your kids, outlast your fetch arm, and still have enough left in the tank to burrow under your blanket and remind you that he is, at his core, a very good boy who just wants to be close to his people. If you are interested in finding out more about Ralphie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Ralphie is being fostered in Woburn, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
