Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a hoot. 😂 He loves car rides and does perfectly when traveling! As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience but he’s mastering it well! Skipper is very much loved in his foster home and they can’t wait for him to find his perfect family! 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Need new home for choco. Was my son's dog which he adopted in Hawaii. They had new baby and choco was skittish around baby, so I took him. Landlord not happy about that. He is very lovable, protective loves his walks. He will follow some commands . He will use puppy pads if I am gone long time, he has held going potty for up to 18 hours. Sleeps on my bed every night. He would probably do well with older, docile, calm housemate. He does not like car rides

Story
Choco is 5 years old 35 lbs. My son adopted him in Hawaii at 1 years old. Moved to MD and had new baby, Choco was nervous around sudden movement and crying. I took choco home about 7 months ago. He loves to cuddle, lots of kisses. I work long hours at times and he doesn't like to be alone. He does use puppy pads when I am away, but amazingly he can wait up to 18 hours, till I return. Loves walks and has improved well with words and understands and obeys. Loves tug of war play time. Feel he would adjust to an older dog better. Is protective to owner. Would love him to find good home

Meet Alfalfa: a sassy little Rat Terrier with big opinions and zero interest in keeping them to himself.Alfalfa knows exactly what he wants out of life: daily walks, plenty of outdoor adventures, a chance to show off his impressive trick repertoire, and a cream cheese-filled Kong enjoyed in peace and dignity. He`s smart, spirited, and believes clear communication is the foundation of every good relationship—especially when it comes to his personal boundaries. This sassy gentleman is looking for an adult-only home with experienced dog owners who appreciate a dog who comes with both personality and preferences. Alfalfa isn`t looking to just be managed; he`s looking to be understood. In return, he`ll provide entertainment, companionship, and plenty of laughs.Alfalfa may enjoy sharing his home with a cat.If you`re a fan of clever dogs with strong opinions and even stronger charm, Alfalfa is ready to interview you for the position of `his person.`If you are interested in adopting Alfalfa please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm with all of the members of your home.

Adoption Donation   $    499               Located:   MS      (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details )    Age: approx   7   years old     Weight: 16  lbs Jack is great with dogs & cats and everyone he has met.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  friendsoha@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Peabody is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix (we think). He was pulled into our rescue from an over-crowded, rural, KY shelter because he was not tolerating the environment well and was shut down. He was terrified when first arriving at his fosters home. It took time…but not much. We have video evidence that he is a Velcro mix. He likes dogs about his size, but gets passive-aggressive with bigger dogs. Meaning he runs his mouth. He would have no problem with another, playful dog or being the one-and-only. He likes to watch TV on the couch, beside you, with his eyes closed. He will be the big spoon every night and knows how to fit perfectly into the small of your back. Peabody will likely need the expected 3 days to decompress in a new environment. But once he has stopped fretting, he’ll be melting like butter in your lap. We think Peabody needs to find that doesn’t require transport, so applications must be local to TN. I need to be adopted in Crossville, Tennessee. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Peabody's adoption fee is $300.If transport is needed, there are additional fees to cover department of agriculture requirements and transport, the additional fee adds $300 to the adoption fee (any location out of Tennessee, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to your browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN.
