Hi! My name is Fire, and I am from Arkansas! From her foster: Little baby Fire is truly the perfect puppy! Her favorite activities include cuddling on the couch with her people, getting the zoomies, climbing on anything she can, and playing with her toys! Although she loves her daily walk, Fire is a homebody at heart especially during these colder months! She loves playing with other pups and is very respectful to cats! She’s been sleeping with me in my bed and does great, but also does fantastic in a crate! She’s also been fantastic with potty training and has less and less messes everyday! She is very food motivated which also makes training easier! Fire hasn’t had a whole ton of experience with kids, but from the few short interactions she has had, I believe she would be just fine in a family!

Penny is an 8 year old Rat Terrier. She was adopted when she was 2 from a shelter. She has been very loved by my husband and I for almost 7 years. Unfortunately, we welcomed a new born into our home last month and Penny has been overly jealous and territorial of my husband and I, which has caused concerns for us to keep her in our home. She is a wonderful dog for adults or a home with older children. Penny loves long walks, the dog park and boat rides. Our family has a cabin and during the winter she loves going up with us and getting on the water or being a companion while we fish. Penny is very loyal and loves to cuddle. It is important to share, Penny is extremely smart, but does need an owner comfortable with working with her on leash. She walks wonderfully, but when passing unknown dogs on leash during walks she will bark. With that said, she walks wonderfully with dogs she knows and does fantastic off leash at the dog park. Looking for a kind and caring home. <3

Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Lucy was surrendered from her family because hospice came and the family could no longer care for her. Lucy is a very affectionate little girl that loves to snuggle under the covers with you at night. She loves to walk on a leash and go for car rides. During her vetting, she was found to be heartworm positive. She has completed all vetting and had her heartworm treatment. She is looking for a family to call her own. She does have an underbite, but otherwise very healthy now. Will you be that family to give her a new life in the new year? Jack was born in rescue after his mother was surrendered when owner passed away. He and his sister were the only surviving pups. The mother rejected them at 2 weeks, and they were bottle fed until able to eat puppy food. Jack is a good and smart little boy. He has mastered pee pad training and will start learning house training very soon. We do not allow puppies to touch ground until they have received multiple distemper parvo vaccinations. His siter is with a foster to adopt and now it's Jack's turn to find his family. Look into those eyes and tell me he isn't the most handsome little guy. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC.
