Hi! My name is Fire, and I am from Arkansas! From her foster: Little baby Fire is truly the perfect puppy! Her favorite activities include cuddling on the couch with her people, getting the zoomies, climbing on anything she can, and playing with her toys! Although she loves her daily walk, Fire is a homebody at heart especially during these colder months! She loves playing with other pups and is very respectful to cats! She’s been sleeping with me in my bed and does great, but also does fantastic in a crate! She’s also been fantastic with potty training and has less and less messes everyday! She is very food motivated which also makes training easier! Fire hasn’t had a whole ton of experience with kids, but from the few short interactions she has had, I believe she would be just fine in a family!

Penny is an 8 year old Rat Terrier. She was adopted when she was 2 from a shelter. She has been very loved by my husband and I for almost 7 years. Unfortunately, we welcomed a new born into our home last month and Penny has been overly jealous and territorial of my husband and I, which has caused concerns for us to keep her in our home. She is a wonderful dog for adults or a home with older children. Penny loves long walks, the dog park and boat rides. Our family has a cabin and during the winter she loves going up with us and getting on the water or being a companion while we fish. Penny is very loyal and loves to cuddle. It is important to share, Penny is extremely smart, but does need an owner comfortable with working with her on leash. She walks wonderfully, but when passing unknown dogs on leash during walks she will bark. With that said, she walks wonderfully with dogs she knows and does fantastic off leash at the dog park. Looking for a kind and caring home. <3

Happy, Energetic, Love at Full Speed Bert is a very social, out-going Rat Terrier. He loves with his entire body, including feet and teeth. We're trying to "tone down" his love but he's quite playful. His play bites do not leave marks, he is very gentle but his jumping does leave bruises. He is a flight risk because he loves to run. He just wants to "Go!" with no idea where he is going. If you are looking for an adventure buddy, this is the guy for you. Walks are his absolute favorite. I think he'd love someone to run with him even more. He is working on house training and making progress. Bert is kennel trained and keeps his kennel clean. He is very food motivated and learns quickly. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Strangers quickly become his friends (unless it's dark outside and he can't see them very well). He loves to play with a ball on his own and is starting to warm up to the idea of playing with his foster people. He is an excellent communicator when he wants food or a potty break and has shown us that he is house-broken. Once he tires himself out with the ball, he will curl up next to you on the couch for a relaxing evening of cuddles. He walks quite well on a leash and doesn't mind when we leave the house during the day, as long as we leave him some treat-filled puzzles on our way out.
