She adores being around people and has been wonderfully respectful of our older resident dog who prefers space. Sugar Socks is doing great with her crate: she eats in it, sleeps in it overnight, and will settle in after a little initial whining. Despite her first few days with us being VERY cold, she's doing most of her pees outside and is working hard on mastering outdoor poops too. She's a wiggly, happy little hopper when she runs, always ready for praise and encouragement. Hi, my name is Snowflake Sparkle and I am from Kentucky! From her foster: This lovable boy is the definition of a cuddle bug. He’s happiest snuggled up with you or simply hanging out by your side. He does great with other dogs and children, though he’s still a puppy with puppy energy (and puppy nibbles!). With redirection to bones and toys, he happily chews the right things. He has short bursts of playful energy, chasing balls, playing with toys, and showing off his zoomies, followed by long naps. He loves being near his humans. He’s working hard on potty training and improving quickly as the weather warms, with only a few accidents (likely related to his neuter, which he’s healing well from). He’s crate trained, sleeping through the night, and napping well during the day. He’d love a dog sibling but would also thrive getting all your attention alone!

Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Hi, my name is Neuf and I'm from Minnesota. From his foster: Neuf is a happy, spunky, energetic guy who loves squeaky toys, playing with other dogs, and zooming around the yard. He’s very smart and highly food-motivated, making him responsive to training—he’s already picking up basic obedience quickly. Neuf does great in his crate overnight and is fully potty trained, going right away when let out. Neuf can be a bit vocal at first when hearing new sounds or meeting new people, but he settles quickly and becomes friendly and affectionate with calm, patient introductions. He appears new to structured leash walking and may pull, dart, or bark at moving things, so he’ll need a patient adopter committed to continued leash training. With consistency, he has already shown impressive improvement. He does have some mild separation anxiety and prefers being near his humans—something we expect will continue to improve in a stable, forever home. Neuf is very playful and may nibble during excitement or greetings, which is not aggressive but does require redirection and ongoing training. Because of this, he would do best with adults or older children who understand dog boundaries. Neuf is good with other dogs but has been known to chase cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. With structure, patience, and love, Neuf has made incredible progress in a short time and will make a loyal, affectionate companion. He’s a sweet boy with so much love, snuggles, and tail wags to give. Neuf will come with two hours of private training sessions with one of our trainers to help set him and his new family up for success.
