Hi, my name is Sloan and I am from Georgia! From his foster: Sloan (who responds best to Winston or "Winnie") is an affectionate, social puppy who absolutely loves people and making new friends. He’s friendly, curious, and happiest when he’s included in everyday life. Like most puppies, he has playful bursts of energy followed by long, cozy naps. He enjoys toys, exploring his surroundings, and then curling up close once he’s tired. Winston is adaptable, loving, and thrives in an active home where he can play, learn, and be part of the family routine. He’s a sweet, happy pup who brings a lot of joy and warmth wherever he goes. Sloan has made great progress with potty training and now reliably goes to the patio door to let you know when he needs to go outside. He is able to sleep 8+ hours overnight without needing a potty break. He loves cuddling in bed and prefers sleeping close to his people rather than in a crate. A patient, active home that enjoys a mix of playtime, structure, and snuggles would be a wonderful fit for him.

Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. She’s a happy, playful girl who greets life with enthusiasm and confidence. Ginger loves people of all ages, gets along well with other dogs, and has been fine around cats too. She has a friendly, social personality but also has an independent streak that makes her fun and entertaining to watch. She has basic training, walks well on a leash (though she may still polish her manners), is crate trained, and does great in the car. Ginger is intelligent, eager to please, and always up for playtime. She has moderate energy and enjoys being active, followed by relaxing on her own terms. She’s the kind of dog who keeps you smiling just by being herself. One important thing to know about Ginger: she’s an excellent climber and a bit of a wiggly escape artist. Chain-link fences won’t hold her, and she should be contained in a secure kennel rather than a pen if confinement is needed. She’s clever and determined, so a home that understands her adventurous nature and can provide safe containment is a must. Ginger was found abandoned in a box, but that hasn’t dimmed her bright spirit at all. She’s resilient, confident, and ready to move forward into a loving home. She can be vocal when she wants something and will “talk” to let you know what’s on her mind, especially when she’s excited or stimulated by activity around her. Ginger would thrive in an active home that appreciates a smart, playful dog with a little mischievous sparkle. With the right setup and lots of love, she’ll make an amazing companion! Ginger is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 01/24/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.
