Story
Meet little Minnie! Found abandoned in a motel parking lot, Minnie has definitely been through a lot in life. Estimated 10-12 years, tiny Minnie has the energy of a much younger dog! She loves a long walk, eagerly jumps up on the couch with her foster humans, and can’t resist a delicious treat. Minnie is house trained and does not have accidents in her foster home! She enjoys walking calmly on a leash and walks well with the other small dog in the home. When it comes to cats, Minnie is your girl! She happily lives and shares space with 5 cats in her foster home, even getting in her cozy bed with one sometimes! She does well with other small dogs too. Given that Minnie is an older lady, we recommend she is adopted to a home with older children (or none at all!). She lives with elementary school aged kids in her foster home, and is very behaved with them, but we think she would appreciate a calmer and quieter environment as she ages! She seems to prefer men over women in general, but once someone earns her trust, she loves them regardless! Please call (845) 414-9700 or email adopt@4LG.org to learn more about Minnie!

Story
Rio came to us as an owner surrender when his family was losing their home to eviction. He was one of a number of dogs in the home that needed new homes, and we were able to take 3 of them. Rio is a friendly boy who is somewhat timid when he first meets new people or encounters new situations. He warms up quickly! There's no aggression - he's just a little scared at first.\ He loves other dogs and we would like to see him in a home with at least one other dog. He was best friends with a dog in his former home, and seems to love having a canine companion or two. He would be happy to live with children 10 years old or older. Rio is a wonderful boy who will make a great family member!

Story
Frankie is a fiercely loyal little guy with a huge heart — and a strong preference for his person. At just 15 pounds, he’s a compact companion with a classic Rat Terrier personality: intelligent, spirited, and yes — a bit bossy! But if you’re a terrier-savvy person who understands and appreciates these traits, Frankie could be your ideal match. Frankie is the definition of a “one-person dog.” Once he chooses you, he loves with his whole heart. He bonds deeply and intensely, and he can be quite protective of that bond — which means he prefers a quiet home without too many new faces coming and going. He’s not the kind of dog who wants to make friends with everyone, and he doesn’t need to. He just needs you. Frankie especially adores men, and he does well with other dogs — particularly female terriers who speak his same spunky language. He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on leash. He thrives with structure and consistency and would do best with someone who can give him both. If you understand terriers and appreciate a loyal companion who will be completely devoted to you (and only you!), Frankie is waiting. He’s not for everyone — but for the right person, he’ll be everything. 🐾❤️

Story
Jack was born in rescue after his mother was surrendered when owner passed away. He and his sister were the only surviving pups. The mother rejected them at 2 weeks, and they were bottle fed until able to eat puppy food. Jack is a good and smart little boy. He has mastered pee pad training and will start learning house training very soon. We do not allow puppies to touch ground until they have received multiple distemper parvo vaccinations. His siter is with a foster to adopt and now it's Jack's turn to find his family. Look into those eyes and tell me he isn't the most handsome little guy. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Story
Lucy was surrendered from her family because hospice came and the family could no longer care for her. Lucy is a very affectionate little girl that loves to snuggle under the covers with you at night. She loves to walk on a leash and go for car rides. During her vetting, she was found to be heartworm positive. She has completed all vetting and had her heartworm treatment. She is looking for a family to call her own. She does have an underbite, but otherwise very healthy now. Will you be that family to give her a new life in the new year? She is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions.
