Get Squiggy with it! Suited best for a low-energy household, this shy guy is sweet with a small bark that will melt your heart. He is soft spoken and likes it that way! At around 9 years old, Squiggy likes it quiet for his naps so a household with no small children would be an ideal fit. Despite his quiet demeanor, he does find moments for play. Squiggy loves playing with other dogs and adores chasing tennis balls. While he is not known to have boxer in him, he likes to put his dukes up while playing. The Squigs is also a huge cuddle bug, although he does cuddle in small spurts. You may have to build some trust, but once you do, Squiggy will be the friend for you! Little PIERCE is recovering well from his amputation surgery and is ready to start looking for a furever home. Pierce is a sweet, affectionate dog, about 7-8 months old and 13 pounds. He's a handsome mixed breed little guy, our best guess is a MinPin/Rat Terrier type mix. Pierce enjoys toys and chewies, attention from humans and playtime with other small dogs. He's navigating very well on 3 legs, he was no longer using the leg that was injured months ago and badly healed. Pierce is housebroken, crate trained and good with cats and other dogs. He would love to find a home with another similar-sized friendly dog. If you'd like to meet Pierce, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Pierce at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Jax is a Mountain Cur/ Australian Cattle Dog and Rat Terrier mix, which means he is driven and craves attention. He has an eagerness to please that we don’t see in many dogs, making him a fantastic dog for someone who enjoys the outdoors, such as hiking, walking, camping or just a leisure walk around the neighborhood. Jax would also excel at agility or a similar activity, he is a quick and agile guy. Jax can be a bit possessive of his person and his toys so he needs a person who while give him clear direction and corrections. He responds very well to verbal commands, he knows what is expected, but he likes to push those boundaries sometimes, he is still young after all. Jax is totally house and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and knows several commands such as sit, down, shake, drop it and stay. If Jax sounds like he would be a good fit for your life, he would love to meet you!
