Story
Punky may be petite, but don’t let her tiny size fool you—this little girl has personality for days. Punky was brought into the vet with serious injuries to her tiny legs that required orthopedic surgery. Today, she has rods supporting those delicate little legs, and while we may never know exactly how her injuries happened, one thing we do know is that Punky is doing beautifully. She moves with incredible grace, running, jumping up and down, sitting pretty, and asking for pets as if she has never had a worry in the world. Her resilience is truly remarkable. And then there’s her personality. Punky can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but that shy streak is very short-lived. Once she settles in, she becomes the most affectionate little shadow you could ever hope for. If you’re looking for a dog who would happily snuggle you ALL DAY LONG, Punky is your girl. She loves being held, curling up on your chest or in your neck, burrowing under the covers, getting belly rubs, and giving kisses. Lots and lots of kisses. She’s also absolutely hilarious. Punky has no problem making her opinions known, especially when someone disrupts her peace or steps out of line. She may be tiny, but she has absolutely no shortage of sass. Once she feels comfortable, you’ll discover a comical, expressive little girl who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to tell you about it. As much as Punky loves being pampered, she isn’t a couch potato. She loves exploring, wandering through the grass, and rolling around outside. She enjoys experiencing the world while staying close to her people. Punky is wonderful with other dogs and does well with dogs of all sizes and ages who are respectful of her tiny size. She is very respectful of her canine companions and expects the same in return. She understands that she’s a tiny girl, and while she has gained an incredible amount of confidence and will absolutely attempt to play with the bigger dogs in her foster home, she knows they need to be gentle with her. Play by Punky’s rules and you’ll have a best friend for life. She is doing wonderfully with her potty training when given regular breaks and is a total crate-training pro. She willingly goes into her crate and will even choose it as a safe, cozy spot from time to time. Punky is the most precious petite little cutie pie cupcake—and she is ready for a family who understands that tiny dogs can have enormous hearts and even bigger personalities. Because of her small size, delicate bone structure, and preference for a calm environment, she would do best in a home without young children where she can feel safe, adored, and completely spoiled. Punky isn’t looking for anything complicated. She wants a person who will hold her, rub her belly, tuck her under the covers, take her outside to explore, respect her boundaries, and remind her every single day that she is exactly what she knows herself to be: A princess. And honestly? We think she’s right. Punky is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to find the family who will love her as fiercely as she will love them. www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Punky’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2780769&name=Punky Punky is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with her, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information and Punky’s name, and her foster or volunteer will be in touch. #mostlymuttzrescue #ratterrierworld #adoptme #delicateflower  #AdoptablePuppy ##2780769##

Story
Meet Morsel, a gentle young adult whose world hasn’t always been predictable—but who is steadily learning that love, safety, and comfort are real. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morsel came into foster care frightened, overwhelmed, and unsure of the world around her. Today, she is making remarkable progress. While she still needs an understanding adopter willing to give her time to settle in, she grows more confident every day. She’s learning to trust, discovering the comfort of routine, and beginning to enjoy all the little things that make a house feel like home. Affection is no longer something she shies away from—in fact, she often returns it with sweet little kisses of her own. Because of her past, Morsel can be wary of unfamiliar people and new situations. She does best when introductions are slow and pressure-free, allowing her to observe and decide when she’s ready to engage. Once someone earns her trust, her affectionate, sweet nature shines through, and the bond she forms is incredibly rewarding. Morsel learned to use pee pads in her previous life, but once she feels comfortable in her environment, she is fully potty trained. She is making steady progress with her leash skills in quieter settings where she feels secure and continues to gain confidence with each outing. Morsel is crate trained, though she doesn’t need to be crated, rides nicely in the car, and is becoming more comfortable being picked up when necessary once she trusts her person. While she isn’t ready for a busy, unpredictable lifestyle, patience and consistency help her continue to blossom. She already knows how to sit for treats and loves to play, romp around, and show off her zoomies. Other dogs are truly Morsel’s safe place. She is wonderful with dogs of all sizes, naturally submissive, and must have a confident canine companion in her adoptive home to help guide and reassure her. She looks to other dogs for comfort and confidence, making a canine friend essential to her continued success. Because of her sensitive nature, Morsel would do best in a quieter household. Older, respectful children who understand the importance of giving her space and allowing her to build trust at her own pace would be the best fit. Morsel also has one impressive—and important—talent: she can climb chain-link fencing like a tiny spider woman. Because of this, her adopter will need to take extra precautions to keep her safe as she adjusts to her new home. Since her leash skills are still developing, careful supervision and secure outdoor access are important. Morsel won’t be an instant, outgoing companion—but for the right person, she will be something even more meaningful. She is the kind of dog whose love is earned slowly, quietly, and deeply. The bond you’ll build with her won’t happen overnight, but it will be one of the most rewarding relationships you can imagine. If you believe in patience, in progress, and in the joy of watching a dog discover just how loved she can be, Morsel may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Morsel is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to head home. www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Morsel’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2641184&name=Morsel Morsel is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Story
Best friend Buddy is the total package. He loves people and greets everyone, always eager for attention.   At 12, Buddy ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. We do not know his backstory or why such a sweet boy would land in a shelter. We may never know.     At Critter Cavalry, we adore seniors and believe they deserve every chance to find a loving home. You won’t regret considering Buddy—he loves everyone, whether human or animal. Buddy is everyone’s best friend.     Buddy is healthy for a senior. He has limited sight and hearing, but is otherwise in good shape. He navigates his foster home easily and enjoys exploring the fenced yard. He comes when called—just use a louder voice.   Buddy is ready to retire with a couple eager to add him to their family. He’d love a fenced yard to explore—size isn’t important—and an active retirement with short walks and car rides. He will be a wonderful addition to a family that matches his lifestyle.   If you want a new best friend, Buddy is perfect for you. To learn more about adopting him, contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or 615-943-7311. Approved application and adoption fee required.    September 8, 2026, 5:33 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Meet Angel, a girl whose name fits her perfectly! Angel is currently living in a foster home, and her foster family absolutely adores her. They say she is the “bestest girl” and just the sweetest little soul to have around. Angel has settled beautifully into home life and loves being part of a family. Her foster family has gotten to see just how loving and special she truly is, and now they are hoping the perfect forever family will see it too. Angel requires another dog in her forever home for companionship and a secure fenced yard where she can safely enjoy being outside. She has already won the hearts of her foster family, and we have a feeling it won’t take long for her to win yours too. Angel is ready for the next chapter of her life—a family to call her own forever.
