Story
Gus is an affectionate, calm companion when his family is home. He enjoys sunbathing, sofa snoozing and walks all on a leash. He knows “sit” and “paw” and is currently enrolled in a reactive dog course.Requirements:Separation anxiety: Gus has severe anxiety when left alone, manifesting in barking, howling and destructive behavior. He recently required medical treatment for eating plastic while solo. He must have a secure, dog-proof environment when alone for his own safety.Reactivity: Gus lunges/barks or tries to run away when he sees other dogs, and sometimes strangers. He has mixed reactions to people entering the yard/home and nipped a person who was performing work at our home (did not break the skin). He needs an experienced owner committed to ongoing training.Environment: Best in a single family home due to barking/howling. Lives with teens, no small children. Other dogs may be helpful if introduced slowly to reduce his separation anxiety.
