Story
MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle Lab-Ridgeback-Pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 6 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better, and continues to be on good salmon food and supplements. He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. Howie is a big snuggler and will want to share your bed! He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping he can find a home by the end of the year. Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. He weighs about 55-60 lbs., and is still in California and available to meet! Please email for an application.

Story
Hi, I’m a joyful, energetic girl who’s discovering just how fun life can be. I recently came to the shelter through our Humane Officers and have been embracing my fresh start with curiosity and excitement. I love stretching my legs, showing off my zoomies, and exploring everything around me. Toys? I adore them, especially the kind I can really get into! I may be a little shy when we first meet, but I warm up quickly and have so much playful personality to share. I’ve lived with children and other dogs before and did well with both. I’m energetic in the best way, I’d thrive with an active family who enjoys routine, enrichment, and plenty of playtime. If you’re looking for a fun, spirited companion who’s ready to run into her next chapter with you, I’m your girl.

Story
Logan is a very sweet 3 year old shepherd mix with a goofy, playful puppy personality. He loves people and wants to be everyone’s friend. Strangers included. Even though he is a big boy, 80 lbs, he would like to climb in your lap and give kisses. He loves to be cuddled and hugged. Logan has very puppy like energy. He loves to play with his toys and gathers all he can around him, large and small. He chews the toys but rarely destroys them. Logan also knows how how to sit, shake and “high five”. He takes treats politely from your hand. He loves to run around, jump over things and roll in the grass. He is really quite a funny and joyful guy! But he also takes corrections of “no” fairly well. He is a quick learner and has been able to learn rules in his foster home very well. Logan does fine with all dogs, large and small. In his former foster home he lived with four small dogs and three large dogs. He was mostly indifferent to them, not wanting necessarily to play with them but he coexisted with them peacefully. He is not reactive to the small dogs barking in his face. He loved going for walks with, Bear, a dog in his former foster home. Logan loves to go for walks and does well on a leash. He is a strong dog so some training to not pull would be helpful. When allowed loose in a protected area, he loves to run and slide into the grass and roll. He loved to play chase with his friend Bear. He is fairly non reactive to other dogs on walks unless they are overly engaging with him. He seems curious but not overly prey driven when seeing cats. Logan had may have had food deprivation in his previous life. He can be protective of his food with other dogs and should be fed separately. He is very intelligent and often stands in front of the space where the treats are kept and in front of the refrigerator. His foster mom fed him extra food and treats to help him realize that he won’t go hungry. And he was really improving. Logan is a talker!! He expresses his opinion about things LOL! When he is unhappy he sounds like a husky in the way he whines loudly. At his foster home he complained when he had to be separated from foster mom or the rest of the pack. He does not have separation anxiety. When foster mom leaves he never tries to follow her out of the front gate. He does well in car rides and enjoys looking out the window. He also seems to enjoy water as he walked in the shower with foster mom for a bath uninvited LOL! Logan’s ideal forever home would have people to love, cuddle, play and walk with. Because he does have so much puppy like energy it would be nice for him to have a yard to run around and play in. Big children would be great! He would love to have another dog to play and walk with. But he would do fine as an only dog too. Logan is young energetic puppy-like dog who would enjoy a home where there is space to roam and play. He would love a person who likes to take him places for hikes and adventures!. If you are looking for a loyal, loving dog, Logan could be your boy!! Story
My name is Mac, and I’m a six-year-old good boy.Since February 2025, I’ve been living in a foster home with two cats and three other dogs, and I’ve done phenomenal. Unfortunately, the resident dogs don’t care for me that much. Anytime I try to play with them, they just stop playing. I guess they don’t like my play style, but I’m trying my best to learn and fit in. I don’t necessarily need dog friends. I actually prefer to bond and play with my human friends anyway.I’ve done really well with the cats — I kind of just do my own thing, and they do theirs.I absolutely love car rides and walks. I’m also a really good running buddy! Oh — and I absolutely love butt scratches.I can be leash reactive at times, but I’m currently in board & train with a trainer who is sculpting me to be the best boy possible for my future person/family. I’m so lucky to have people like him and my foster parents in my corner, continuing to support me and help me thrive over the years. I bond deeply with humans through play, especially tug-of-war, and I really thrive on routine and structure. I will do best in a home with low foot traffic. A single person or couple with no kids would be ideal for me. I’m good with cats and dogs, but again, I would thrive as your one and only. I’ve been waiting a really long time for my forever person, and I hope I don’t grow too old before they find me. Please give me a chance and reach out to meet me. I have a trainer who is committed to continuing my training, along with people who are willing to help guide and support my future family whenever needed.
