Story
Oh Ramona.... The sweet girl is the sister to Roxy and two male pups that were previously adopted out. Imani was pulled from a rural shelter after being placed on the Code Red List. Needless to say, she walked out and has been living her best life ever since. Imani lives in a foster with other pups and cats and she's done great with all of them. Imani is learning her best manners. She's learning to walk on a leash, working on house training, is crate trained, and is working on her confidence building. She does well with other pups though and is working on sharing. She is an absolute peach and warms up quickly once she knows you. Imani is also learning how to cuddle with best of them. If you're wanting a gorgeous young pup that's going to be on the larger side, Imani could be the one for you. Please let is know by completing an app here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form and we'll forward it to her foster pawrent who can answer any additional questions and provide more pictures. ==================================================================================== If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
My name is Lacey and I am just a pretty young, 2 year old, 50 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback mix girl that lived the first years of my life on a chain outside in a man’s backyard.  She has  had a few litters of pups and PREFERS to be the only q         queen of the house.  Being chained, many dogs have a defensive attitude of being jumped on and often prefer to be the only pet in the home.  She is very sweet and loving and adores meeting new people and making friends.   She loves men especially and is gentle with children. She is so very calm and easy going around the house.  She is not a fan of the crate because it is new to her.   She was never crated until now.  She doesn’t seem to be destructive at all in the house.   She loves sleeping on the bed at night and will sleep right next to you.  She has been in HEAVEN because she has never had the inside comforts of a home. This smart girl can be taught so many things.  Please consider giving her a comfy and loving home and the life she deserves.  She is ready now!  She is housebroken and loves car rides and can travel to a new home anywhere. If you want a well rounded and easy dog  you really need to pick Lacey!!!   Email Critter Cavalry Rescue and ask for an application to adopt.   Email:  ccrnewengland@gmail.com  She is ready to pack her bags and head fast as lightning to a new dog bed and people who will treat her like a Queen. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 29, 2024, 8:59 am

Story
Hello! My name is Honey! I am about 2 years old and am ready to find my furever family! I am about 50 pounds!I do well with other dogs and cats, but I love my humans more! I love to lay next to and sleep by my foster mom. I guess I’m what you call a “Velcro” dog. I want to be beside you and loved on. I’m a cuddle champion and they say I am a sound sleeper who snores (I don’t believe them!). I do really well with kids and don’t mind when they touch my face. I’m not a licker, I don’t get in their face, and I’m super gentle!I am learning how to sit and stay, and walk really well on the leash. I am not a fan of busy streets with fast cars, I prefer quiet trails for good sniffs! I go to the door when I have to go potty and I love treats and toys. I’m the PERFECT mix of couch snuggler and walking/hiking hound! I absolutely need my daily walks, and not just a 5 minute walk either! I would love to be a part of a loving family that will keep and spoil me furever. A home with a fenced in yard, someone who works from home, and another dog that's well mannered would be my ideal fit!I had puppies and was dumped with my babies at a very small high kill shelter in Texas. Thankfully, two of my babies were adopted. I was left with my one puppy, Oreo. My remaining puppy and I were scheduled to be euthanized as we were the longest residents. Pep’s Pals stepped in and found us a foster mom!All of my babies have found their happily furever after, I know I deserve mine too!I’m up to date on vaccinations, on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm negative, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed. I am healthy and ready for a loving home!Ready to make Honey a permanent part of your family? Fill out the adoption application below:https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57837/generic ##1898412##

Story
If Harley is 1 year old, she’s the oldest puppy we’ve ever known. She’s playing puppy catch up, doing all the silly puppy things – playing, running, jumping, getting belly rubs – almost like she’s trying to make up for lost puppy time. Most of all, she wants to be close all the time. Harley is amazing with all dogs. She’s all mush, even getting into a big play-bow position as if to convey to a dominant dog, “yes, you’re the boss. I’m just here to be loved.” She became fast friends with all of the other dogs in her foster home.  When she is finally ready to collapse after all the playing, all she wants to do is snuggle, to be close, to be loved. She likes to lick, but it’s more of a sweet, little kiss to show affection. She’s very kid friendly, but jumps. She has a high prey drive, so she should not be in a home with small animals such as cats. She has learned how to sit, go to her kennel, move (when she’s in your way while walking), and learning stay/wait. She is fully potty trained and crate trained.  When she’s outside, she has to be encouraged to stop playing long enough to “Go Potty.” She’s silly as she’ll play in between potty breaks! She loves to eat, but eats separately from the other dogs in her foster home just in case anyone shows any resource guarding (which Harley has not)!  She doesn’t know how big she is. She wants to jump on her smaller dog foster siblings and can play too rough. With that being said, it would be best if she goes to a home without small animals (also due to prey drive), kids under 10, or anyone that is a falling risk/unsteady on their feet. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, she just doesn’t realize her size!  When she went to the vet recently, all she wanted to do was meet everyone and everyone was her friend. She reminds her fosters of Ranger, their Rhodesian who knew everyone loved him. Harley is a Ranger, an honor they don’t bestow lightly. The family that adopts Harley will be blessed. She has amazed us with how easily she adapts to new situations, meeting new people and meeting new dogs. She’s curious about everything, with a wonder that is endearing. She’s easy to love and will make you wonder how you managed to live without her at all. Adopters must have a fully fenced yard, an active lifestyle, and another dog for her to play with in the home. Again, no children under the age of 10, small animals, or anyone that is a fall risk in the home.    She is up to date on vaccinations, on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, microchipped, has had a negative fecal test, heartworm negative, and is spayed.  DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. FYI: The adoption fee covers transport & health certificate costs to adopters in the DMV/PA/other northeast states. The dog is currently in Texas in a temporary foster home awaiting transport once we find an adopter, and our transporters do runs every 2 weeks.    Ready to make Harley a permanent part of your family?
