Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I’m Riley, and I’m on the hunt for a family to call my very own — could it be you? My foster mom says I have the cutest little face and legs that go on forever. I mean… do you think I could be model material? I certainly know how to strike a pose! I’m currently living in a foster home with two of my siblings, and let’s just say I’m the little spitfire of the bunch. I’m just a girl who loves to have FUN! I play hard, zoom around, and then when I’m all tuckered out, I’m all about that beauty sleep. A girl needs her rest, after all! I enjoy exploring the outdoors, but I’ll be honest — if it’s cold out there, you won’t catch me staying out long, but now that the warm weather has hit…outside is my favorite place to be, but only with my human close by. I love all kinds of toys (especially the squeaky ones!), and chewing on a good bone is one of my favorite pastimes. I’m crate trained and working hard on my potty training, and as long as I stay on a schedule and get a yummy treat for being a good girl, I’ll have it mastered in no time. I’m a smart cookie! And did I mention I LOVE kids? I really enjoy being part of the action and soaking up all the attention. I’m hoping my forever family finds me soon. I love my foster home, but when I get adopted, it means my foster mom can save another pup just like me — and that makes my heart so happy. We pups have to stick together! If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family, please apply for me today at  BuffaloCares.org . I promise to love you with my whole heart. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi everyone! My name is Murphy! I’m a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and my foster mom says I’m a pretty handsome dude… what do you think? I’m a super sweet boy with a big heart, and I love to snuggle—it’s one of my favorite things to do! Whether it’s with my foster mom or anyone who enjoys a good cuddle, I’m all in. Could that be you? I live with lots of other dogs, including my three siblings, and we all get along great. I love toys—any kind, really—but stuffies, bones, and ropes are my favorites. If I can chew it, I’m a happy pup! I also love a good game of tug-of-war with my siblings… and sometimes I even let them win I get super excited to meet new people! I’ve been to some special events where I got lots of attention, and let me tell you—I loved every second of it. I’ve spent time with both adults and kids, and I think they’re all so much fun. I’m working hard on my potty training and doing really well when I stick to a schedule. I’m also crate trained—I’m perfectly fine hanging out in there when my humans are away, and I sleep through the night without a peep. That said, I wouldn’t mind upgrading to a comfy bed where we can keep each other company and share sweet dreams. I love being outside, especially now that the weather is getting warmer. I’m not a big fan of the cold, but maybe with a cozy coat, I could learn to like it! I’m just starting to learn about leashes, and with a little guidance, I’ll be ready for all kinds of adventures and family walks. If you think I might be the perfect addition to your home, I’d love to meet you and show you just how much love I have to give Apply to adopt me @buffalocares.org!   Adoption Fee: $475.00 RR48 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All dogs come fully up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm tested, de-wormed, on flea and heart worm preventative, and spayed/neutered.  If interested in learning more or adopting please fill out an application on our website at www.buffalocares.org. Story
Copper will be good with a family or person experienced with independent dog personalities. He is extremely loving and makes a good companion, however, he lacks stress control, does not have good recall and will bark at anything that moves, including delivery/mail men, trucks, squirrels and things I can't even see. He loves walks but pulls which I haven't been able to fix. He can sometimes make me laugh though and makes me feel very safe. There's more I could say but just knowing him and spending time with him has been a good experience.

Story
🐾 ESTHER is a sweet, friendly new surrender who is fully vetted and some sort of a thick mixy medium large mix of maybe lab hound etc? She's a beauty! She's estimated younger adult at just 2 years old and we will update her listing with more pics and info as her foster gets them to us. So far she is good with other dogs and enjoys attention and a good sunbath, too. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please apply via the “Apply to Adopt button or here: www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply and be sure to select their name from the dropdown to expedite your application!! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)
