Story
Hey there, future friend! I`m Larry, the Rottweiler with a heart as big as my paws. Let`s dive into my quirky world and discover all the reasons why we might just be the perfect match – even if I come with a few funny little quirks!Sudden sounds and unexpected surprises might make me jump, but hey, life`s all about those exciting leaps, right? Just imagine us navigating the world together, ready to face surprises head-on, even if they result in a playful hop!I`m all about the grown-up vibes, so let`s keep the party strictly for the adults. Kids are fun, but my happy place is with mature pals who can understand my quirks and give me the space I need to feel at ease. Together, we can create a world where laughter and understanding go hand in paw.As we speak, I`m brushing up on my leash skills, so you`ll have the pleasure of watching me transform from a bumbling beginner to a leash-walking champ.Give SPARC a call to set up a meet-and-greet – let`s start our hilariously heartwarming journey together! From startle jumps to leash-walking triumphs, we`ll tackle it all with a dose of laughter and a whole lot of tail wags. I can`t wait to meet you and share some giggles!

Story
Meet Willow, a sweet adult dog who is as independent as she is brave. She's incredibly smart, which shines through in her playful antics and loyal demeanor. Willow thrives in a quiet home environment where she can enjoy her own space and time and would do well with a mature adult person or couple and no young children. She gets along well with cats, but can be selective with her canine companions so being an only dog is an option. Willow is eager to be part of a family again and have her own home, and she is a good watchdog who will alert you if a stranger comes to your home.. Willow lived her first few years with a retired couple and slept in their bed with them. Sadly her daddy became ill and they had to rehome her. Despite her independent spirit, Willow still loves to engage in walks on her leash and other fun activities and to show her affectionate side to those she trusts. She will spend her day on your lap watching tv ( she is housebroken) and knows how to use a dog door to let herself outside to potty, lay in the sun or play in the water in her kiddie pool. She would make an ideal companion for those seeking a loyal and playful friend. Willow's unique blend of sweetness, friendliness, and independence, coupled with her bravery and loyalty, makes her a wonderful choice for adoption. She is ready to bring joy, laughter, and companionship to her forever home. Adoption fee is $250.. Email us at ALPHADOGPETRESCUE@YAHOO.COM and ask for our adoption application.

Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chihuahua, Boxer, Great Dane, Pit Bull and Peruvian Inca Orchid X DOB: 8/2022 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): black / red brown Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Sonora, a beautiful, joyful and entertaining Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chihuahua, Boxer, Great Dane, Pit Bull and Peruvian Inca Orchid X, whew that was a mouthful, (dna test) who is in need of a forever home. I had a rough start in life and was found abandoned in the mountains in Sonora, Mexico (hence my name) with a head injury and very sick as a puppy. Some vacationing hikers found me and brought me back to the US to take care of me. I'm healthy now and ready for adoption.I'm not always the easiest dog to manage, but I've had formal training and a few foster families to help me learn how to behave in a home. I've learned a lot, but still have some learning to do. I'm very smart so I know I can continue to learn more.I love running around, cuddling and playing with other dogs. I'm very high energy, love to go on walks, but can be reactive to triggers when on leash. Another dog in the home would be great, but that dog would need to be able to handle my energy level. I need a yard to get my daily zoomies in.If I'm going to be left alone, I need to be confined in a dog proof area or in a crate. I'm not suited for apartment life. I can be shy with strangers at first, but I'm quick to fall in love with most people. Although I've been supervised around young children and did great with them, I tend to jump and play nip when excited so would do best in a dog experienced adult home.I might do ok with cats. A couple of the foster homes had cats and I ignored them or left them alone, but I was never unattended with them.If you're looking for an active great gal and can give me the structure and environment that I need to thrive, please put in an application to meet me. Minimum 6 foot fence.November 7, 2024, 11:05 am

Story
Jelly will be 2 years old in March 2026. She loves to play fetch and cuddle with her family. She is 92 pounds and is very athletic. She is house trained but she usually prefers to sleep outside. She has also been crate trained and sleeps all night without barking in a crate. (I would donate her crate if needed) She can jump over a 4 foot fence so she needs a 6 foot fenced yard if left alone. She is smart and has learned to sit. We are teaching her to stay on command. She is very loving and will be a great companion dog. She loves her head and belly scratched and will snuggle with you. She has been around older children. She loves to go hiking. I have fostered her for 2 weeks at her owners request. I have 2 older dogs who have bad hips and can’t play with her. She could be your next best friend.

Story
This little cutie is Junebug and she has come a very long way but she still requires a very special home. She appeals to many people because she's quite small, often confused for a puppy. She is 1-2 years old and landed in the animal shelter in very rough shape. She had horrible mange and she was so terrified of people that she couldn't be handled. She would lash out, trying to bite and often peeing herself. We have spent many months working with Junebug to help her medically and behaviorally. She can now walk on a leash and she will allow as well as give back affection. However, Junebug still panics, especially if approached by anyone other than her handler. She tries to get away and she still has a tendency to be mouthy. It is difficult to describe because she doesn't seem to be "biting" with intent to harm but she will put her mouth on your skin when she's scared. She has never hurt anyone that has worked with her but she will need an experienced, patient and dedicated owner to continue working with her and will definitely benefit from someone willing to hire a trainer to help the transition. Junebug has been good with other dogs but can be vocal when she plays.

Story
Angie is an adorable Dobie mix with a heart of gold. She originally came to us very pregnant so she needed time to safely have and raise her pups. Now she is spayed and ready for a new start in life. She’s just under 50 pounds, all natural (floppy ears and long tail), good with other dogs and very sweet with people. It’s hard to tell if she can live with cats because she certainly seems inclined to chase. Angie has enough energy and athleticism for the active folks out there but she’s not non-stop activity so she can have down time too. She was guessed to be between 14 months and 2 years old. *We try to keep our posts up-to-date but there may be more dogs available for adoption than we have shared here. Please go to our website at www.dobiesandlittlepawsrescue.org to see all of our available dogs and fill out our adoption application.

Story
We received five pups that were brought to an upstate animal shelter as a group that were supposedly dumped in a desolate area and brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan. We think this is yet another case of dogs breeding during the pandemic's worst year, when people moved and couldn't take their dogs, couldn't get or pay for spay and neuter appointments at veterinary clinics, etc. We had agreed to take two of the pups at a time, but it was implied that due to shelter overcrowding, the other three wouldn't be available later on to be rescued. As of early September, the siblings are 7 months old; four males and one female. They are very social with each other but have had no leash training or experience outside their home environment. Grace is the female, a big, light tan female. Each of the pups would probably benefit from having at least one other dog in the home, or else be adopted by a family that provides socializing with other dogs at dog parks and the like. None of them are aggressive. Their DNA was tested and they are 50% Doberman, 25% Belgian Malinois, and 25% Dutch Shepherd.
