If you are interested in fostering call the Adoption Center at (805) 644-PETS(7387).Hi, I'm Odin an affectionate and playful Rottweiler X who is in need of a new home due to something they called a divorce and moving where big dogs aren't allowed.I enjoy the company of my family the most and running. I'm good with other dogs and cats too! Although I may chase the cat, I just want to play. In general, I’m good with children, but since I can get overwhelmed around too many people and too much noise, I’d do best in a home with older children. I need an active family who can keep up with my energy and give me the daily exercise and attention that I love and need. Couch potatoes need not apply. I don't care to be left alone or for loud noises. I will dig and jump a fence (min 10 ft fence required) if not exercised daily and if left outside during fireworks and thunder. Story
Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chihuahua, Boxer, Great Dane, Pit Bull and Peruvian Inca Orchid X DOB: 8/2022 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): black / red brown Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Sonora, a beautiful, joyful and entertaining Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chihuahua, Boxer, Great Dane, Pit Bull and Peruvian Inca Orchid X, whew that was a mouthful, (dna test) who is in need of a forever home. I had a rough start in life and was was found abandoned in the mountains in Sonora, Mexico (hence my name) with a head injury and very sick as a puppy. Some vacationing hikers found me and brought me back to the US to take care of me. I'm healthy now and ready for adoption. I'm not always the easiest dog to manage, but I've had formal training and a few foster families to help me learn how to behave in a home. I've learned a lot, but still have some learning to do. I'm very smart so I know I can continue to learn more. I love running around, cuddling and playing with other dogs. I'm very high energy, love to go on walks, but can be reactive to triggers when on leash. Another dog in the home would be great, but that dog would need to be able to handle my energy level. I need a yard to get my daily zoomies in. If I'm going to be left alone, I need to be confined in a dog proof area or in a crate. I'm not suited for apartment life. I can be stranger shy at first, but I'm quick to fall in love with most people. Although I've been supervised around young children and did great with them, I tend to jump and play nip when excited so would do best in a dog experienced adult home. I might do ok with cats. A couple of the foster homes had cats and I ignored them or left them alone, but I was never unattended with them. If you're looking for an active great gal and can give me the structure and enironment that I need to thrive, please put in an application to meet me. Minimum 6 foot fence.May 8, 2024, 9:08 pm

Story
Medical needs shelter dog Dan-O, abandoned by family and loose for a month, is looking for a special home. Dan-O is about 1.5 years old. We think he’s probably a Rottie/Shepherd type mix. He arrived at the shelter on New Year’s Eve after being caught by our friends at Dog Days Search & Rescue. Folks in the area reported that his family packed up a motorhome and left. ?? He stuck around, scared, for about a month before he was finally able to be brought in.At the shelter we noticed that Dan-O had a bit of an unusual gait in his legs/hips. Exams by our on-site veterinarian and a neurological consult were inconclusive, but all suspect a neck or spinal abnormality that at this time, does not seem to impact his quality of life at all!Perhaps as a result of fending for himself, Dan-O isn’t the dog that’s going to run up to you for pets or snuggle up to people. But he’s never shown any signs of aggression and has tolerated handling for vet exams like a champ! He absolutely LIGHTS UP around other dogs. Seeing him bound around and play without a care in the world is really special. The goal for Dan-O is a home or rescue transfer with someone who will continue to monitor his condition and make sure Dan-O has a comfortable, happy life where he will never be abandoned again. A confident, respectful doggie sibling to teach him that humans are friends may be beneficial. To learn more about Dan-O, please come meet him at the shelter! We’d happy to speak with you more about his needs. Meet and greets with other pups welcome.

Story
HI - I'M MORGAN, and I'm a large (90-pound-plus) 7-year-old handsome male Rottweiler in need of a home. When I walk into a room or down the street, I exude presence, and you'll surely get lots of looks with me by your side. I'm a very loyal Rottie and will be loving and protective to my person. I especially love women though would do fine with the right guy. I'm not fond of farm animals, and I'm also not a fan of veterinarians (a muzzle would be good - who likes vets?) Rottweiler or big-dog experience is a plus, as I need a strong owner. Please email for an application.
