Story
Chubz – 4-Month-Old Puppy Looking for a Loving Home 🐾 Chubz is a playful, loving 4-month-old puppy with a sweet personality and natural protective instincts. We were gifted him at 6 weeks old by a dear friend, but as he’s grown, we’ve realized he’ll become a large dog, and our current home can’t provide the space he needs to thrive. We’re looking for a loving, responsible family with room for him to grow and enjoy life. Our only priority is finding Chubz the forever home he deserves.

Story
Meet Willow, a sweet adult dog who is as independent as she is brave. She's incredibly smart, which shines through in her playful antics and loyal demeanor. Willow thrives in a quiet home environment where she can enjoy her own space and time and would do well with a mature adult person or couple and no young children. She gets along well with cats, but can be selective with her canine companions so being an only dog is an option. Willow is eager to be part of a family again and have her own home, and she is a good watchdog who will alert you if a stranger comes to your home.. Willow lived her first few years with a retired couple and slept in their bed with them. Sadly her daddy became ill and they had to rehome her. Despite her independent spirit, Willow still loves to engage in walks on her leash and other fun activities and to show her affectionate side to those she trusts. She will spend her day on your lap watching tv. She is housetrained and knows how to use a dog door to let herself outside to potty, lay in the sun or play in the water in her kiddie pool. She would make an ideal companion for those seeking a loyal and playful friend. Willow's unique blend of sweetness, friendliness, and independence, coupled with her bravery and loyalty, makes her a wonderful choice for adoption. Adoption fee is $250. Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chihuahua, Boxer, Great Dane, Pit Bull and Peruvian Inca Orchid X DOB: 8/2022 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): black / red brown Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Sonora, a beautiful, joyful and entertaining Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chihuahua, Boxer, Great Dane, Pit Bull and Peruvian Inca Orchid X, whew that was a mouthful, (dna test) who is in need of a forever home. I had a rough start in life and was found abandoned in the mountains in Sonora, Mexico (hence my name) with a head injury and very sick as a puppy. Some vacationing hikers found me and brought me back to the US to take care of me. I'm healthy now and ready for adoption.I'm not always the easiest dog to manage, but I've had formal training and a few foster families to help me learn how to behave in a home. I've learned a lot, but still have some learning to do. I'm very smart so I know I can continue to learn more.I love running around, cuddling and playing with other dogs. I'm very high energy, love to go on walks, but can be reactive to triggers when on leash. Another dog in the home would be great, but that dog would need to be able to handle my energy level. I need a yard to get my daily zoomies in.If I'm going to be left alone, I need to be confined in a dog proof area or in a crate. I'm not suited for apartment life. I can be shy with strangers at first, but I'm quick to fall in love with most people. Although I've been supervised around young children and did great with them, I tend to jump and play nip when excited so would do best in a dog experienced adult home.I might do ok with cats. A couple of the foster homes had cats and I ignored them or left them alone, but I was never unattended with them.If you're looking for an active great gal and can give me the structure and environment that I need to thrive, please put in an application to meet me. Minimum 6 foot fence. Thank you to Tara for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life. March 13, 2026, 5:44 pm

I'm a big boy who walks well on leash and I'm learning to take treats nicely. I used to live in a home with children (ages unknown) and with Envy, who was also abandoned. They say I resource guard toys from other dogs. It's unknown at this time if I am good with cats. Story
Duke is a one year 2 month doberman pitbull mix. In the house he is pretty mellow as long as his exercise needs have been met. Id take him for a 20 minute walk in the morning, lunch time, and after work. Evenings we would spend 30-60 mins at the dog park. This would keep him very manageable in the house. He is play motivated (balls are his favorite) for training which also works in high distraction environments. Food works well in low distraction or after he us comfortable with a command. His quirks are barking at dogs while on leash and counter surfing. He does prefer to chew on his bone or toes but will make mistakes. He knows sit, stay, down needs work, up, off, cross to cross a street, wait to not cross if he is heading there or just to make him stop, come/right here, drop it (but will probably pick it up again), leave it (except with his ball)

Story
Meet Chocolate - every bit as sweet as her name suggests! Chocolate came into our care as a stray after being found wandering in the city of Fillmore. The finders were able to lure her into their car, and upon arrival at the shelter, she calmly hopped out and walked right up to our Animal Care staff. Rather than bolting, she happily accepted a leash and headed inside. Once in the shelter, she was easy to vaccinate and quickly showed us her affectionate side by actively seeking attention from staff even though vaccines are often stressful! Our volunteers have had the opportunity to spend time with Chocolate and have wonderful things to say about her. She has been designated as an `easy` dog, meaning any of our dog-walking volunteers can take her out. They report that she is easy to leash, does not jump up, and pays little attention to surrounding dogs while out and about. She walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling and appears to know several commands, including `sit,` `down,` and `paw.`We did an on-leash introduction of Chocolate to our large dog playgroups. She approached a large male Pit Bull mix with a rapid wagging tail, soft body language, playful bouncing, and several play bows. She did great!Chocolate has been an absolute love. We would love to see this special girl find a placement where she can continue to receive the care she needs as a sweet senior while enjoying all the comforts of a home instead of the shelter.
