I had a rough start in life and was found abandoned in the mountains in Sonora, Mexico (hence my name) with a head injury and very sick as a puppy. Some vacationing hikers found me and brought me back to the US to take care of me. I'm healthy now and ready for adoption.I'm not always the easiest dog to manage, but I've had formal training and a few foster families to help me learn how to behave in a home. I've learned a lot, but still have some learning to do. I'm very smart so I know I can continue to learn more.I love running around, cuddling and playing with other dogs. I'm very high energy, love to go on walks, but can be reactive to triggers when on leash. Another dog in the home would be great, but that dog would need to be able to handle my energy level. I need a yard to get my daily zoomies in.If I'm going to be left alone, I need to be confined in a dog proof area or in a crate. I'm not suited for apartment life. I can be shy with strangers at first, but I'm quick to fall in love with most people. Although I've been supervised around young children and did great with them, I tend to jump and play nip when excited so would do best in a dog experienced adult home.I might do ok with cats. A couple of the foster homes had cats and I ignored them or left them alone, but I was never unattended with them.If you're looking for an active great gal and can give me the structure and environment that I need to thrive, please put in an application to meet me. I DO NOT WANT TO PUT HER IN A SHELTER AND MIGHT BE WITHOUT A HOME SOONLola was born in November of 2018 and I rescued her the following month. I taught her basic commands as well as few trick’s which she took to very quickly. With moving throughout the years she has always been super good with traveling and adapting to new environments. Lola grew up with dogs and cats throughout the years with no issues. In early 2025 Lola had an infected uterus and needed a full hysterectomy. The surgery went perfectly with no issues and so did her recovery. Lola is the sweetest, most loving girl. Unfortunately, as of recently I’ve come to a point where I can’t take care of Lola properly due to certain circumstances and she is such a good girl and deserves more than what I can provide, especially as she is getting older. I’m looking for someone who has a big heart for fur babies and can provide a calm environment and fully support her needs :)Please reach out to me If interested or have any questions!

Athena is 10.5 years old. She does great with other dogs and amazing with kids and all people. She has been in homes with cats but would recommend one that can correct her. she loves to play with cats but does not understand when cats do not want to play with her. She is food and toy motivated and knows basic tricks. Does great on leash or at parks. Is potty trained but due to her age I believe, she can no longer hold it past 6-8 hrs. She prefers to be outside the crate but if you need to crate, I recommend hard sided kennels. If someone is outside that she doesn't know, she will stay where she is and bark until they are gone. She loves to sleep, travel, cuddle and eat. She has seasonal allergies that will require medicine or vet recommended treatment.
