Sir Gabriel Update Our handsome boy Sir Gabriel is being such a good boy as he rests from his first heartworm treatment. This part of the process is painful, but our gentle giant is handling it like an absolute champion. And look how smart he is! His Food Goddess asked him what he wanted — “Do you want the peanut butter Kong? If you do, show me where it’s at.” And just look at him… he marched right over to the freezer to show her exactly where it was! This boy’s intelligence is unreal. Sir Gabriel is spending his recovery time with his two Rottie foster sisters: Deja – the big momma of the group Rumor – the baby girl of the house They’re keeping him company, helping him stay relaxed, and surrounding him with the kind of love only dogs know how to give. Please keep Sir Gabriel in your prayers as he continues this journey. Healing takes time, patience, and a whole lot of love — and he has all three. Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. We are looking to rehome our Rottweiler Mario to the right home. Mario has been through extensive professional training. He is well mannered obedient and responsive. He is great with adults and very good with other dogs. He is loving affectionate and bonds closely with his people. He enjoys companionship structure and routine and does best in a calm environment. Due to anxiety around children Mario is not safe in a home with kids. He has had unpredictable anxiety based reactions and for everyone’s safety we are seeking an adult only home with experienced dog owners who understand large breeds and canine behavior. This decision is heartbreaking and made with his best interest in mind. Mario deserves a home where he can feel secure understood and set up for success. Finley is a large-size 2-year-old Doberman/Pit bull mix who weighs 57 pounds. Finley has had mixed feelings about other dogs in her time with us at PCAS. She may enjoy another dog in her new home, provided a meet and greet goes well. She tested positive for Lyme upon intake and is currently undergoing treatment.
